It's not easy to find a mechanic you can trust, so i tend to do almost all the work on my own vehicles. But due to time constraints and the degree of decrepit parts involved, i brought my aging van into Transmission Masters to have some work to prepare it for a trip to the Seattle area. Dan and his mechanics there actually talked me out of transmission and brake related repairs and other work that i wanted done. They could have easily taken my money and done the work, which it turns out would have actually increased the chances of the transmission or brakes in my vehicle failing. Instead they preferred to help me make a better decision. While the trip was likely a one-way journey, they gave me sage advice concerning the best way to get my vehicle there in one piece.
2,000 miles and two major mountain ranges later, my '78 van, overloaded by about 100 pounds (6,860 lbs. on the scale in South Dakota) made it without a breakdown. The guys at Transmission Masters were knowledgeable, respectful and professional. They did some minor repair and maintenance work on our '96 Honda Civic too, which made the trip easily as well. I highly recommend getting an estimate from Transmission Masters if you are looking for an honest repair assessment.
