I went there with family and friends for our usual Chinese New Year meal, and the food was greasy, and poorly prepared. I don't know what happened to this place. On top of it all, a potsticker had a piece of steel wool embedded into the skin. My 9 year old daughter was about to eat these! When I brought it to the attention of the waitstaff (in Chinese no less...I speak the language), they shrugged it off, and brought it back to the kitchen without even an apology! I am very disappointed. The food overall wasn't terrible, but my guests were turned off and I was extremely embarassed by the steel wool in the food and the nonchalant manner the staff handled it. I have been going to this place since I was young. I may have to stop going.

Pros: Good selection of traditional food.

Cons: Read the review...greasy...and steel wool in the food didn't help either.

This is a good and cheap place to get Hongkong style food in Chicago Chinatown. I like the noddle in soup menu, usually I have thick noddle with shrimp dumpling and roast duck in soup. Well, you get to choose what you want even if it is not on the menu. The service is quick and the price cannot be beaten. The restaurant is not the most clean place in the area, but most chinese restaurant are like that.

Seven Treasures has good food for a good value. Orders run big in size (A single order can usually feed 2-3 people). The location is nice with many places to explore prior to or after you eat. Their only downfall is the service tends to be slow; however, most of their servers are very friendly and don't seem to mind taking the time to explain a dish.

This is where all the working people go to eat. (Get the stir-fry lobster!)
