I have been going to Asha for my color for 5 years. I take my Hair color very serious and understand it is worth the price for beautiful color and education about taking care of my hair color and hair. I was going to Tina for the past 5 years and was always amazed with the education she taught me and of course my hair color. Unfortunately I found out she left when I made my next appt. The gentleman on the phone assured me I would still be happy with my color with one of the other Colorists he suggested.

I decided to see Sarah. Not the same at all! She was quiet. barely talked, foiled really slow, and she didn't even blow dry my hair like Tina did. While one of the interns who took way too long and used way to much product , I noticed her walk by a couple times. I was deeply disappointed she didn't even come by and make sure I was happy with the color. Tina made me feel great and beautiful when I left the salon. I felt like she genuinely cared about my hair color. When I left after my color with Sarah, which may I add was significantly more expensive then Tina, I felt like she did not care. On top of it all, after a week my blonde was dull and meek. I was very very unhappy with Asha.

Good News is I did find her after that disaster! And I couldn't be happier!

I??ve been to Asha in Schaumburg for several treatments recently.
I really like the atmosphere of the spa. It is very quiet and relaxing. The staff is polite and helpful. I love that ??Aveda? smell so the scent is very inviting to me.

I highly recommend the Asha massage. I like the choice of scented oils that are presented to you at the beginning of the massage.
I left there very happy and relaxed.

I have also had the Himalayan Rejuvenation Treatment. I have mixed feelings about this treatment. Although it was a calming experience, I don??t feel it was worth the money.
It starts off with a Neti massage, which is a face massage that helps open your sinuses. I then received a body exfoliation scrub. After the scrub, a steam tent was placed over me; first the front half of my body (head to mid back) and then one enveloped me from the neck down. Afterwards, ??Tranquilessence? was dripped on my forehead while I rested on the massage table, cooling down from the steam ??bath?. Tranquilessence is a liquid that kind of has the consistency of anti-bacterial gel that is supposed to make you feel more balanced. After the treatment was complete, I took a shower (their shower is awesome!) and got dressed. I was then taken to the salon where I received a blow-dry (which I wasn??t expecting).

I don??t think I would have this treatment again; I had preconceived ideas about the experience and I was expecting more.
I would choose to have a combination of the Neti massage and Asha massage instead. I suffer from seasonal allergies and the Neti massage is fantastic.
I was also underwhelmed with the salon and I don??t think I would have any hair services at Asha.

I have had hair and facial services here. I have had microderm. with Lillian (who is awesome, takes pride & cares about what she does obviously) & another girl, who was terrible! I had a touch-up hair color & highlights done on a whim, and it turned out terrible! My hair ended up being orange at the touch-up spot, and the highlights were unimpressive and not mixed well through the layers. She fixed the orange wierdness that I have never experienced in 15 years any where else; but said oh that happens sometimes... REALLY, in what universe! The 2 blow-dry girls were terrible! I have never not liked my hair after being salon blown-out. Please hire experienced staff!!!!

I will never come here except to see Lillian for facial experiences.

I had been looking for a new hairstylist who could look at me and give me advice on what would look best on me, instead of asking me what I wanted - I never really know! I have a few friends who go to Susan Ford at Asha in Schaumburg, and although I live closer to downtown, I was willing to make the commute. The parking situation is tough so I arrived a bit later than my scheduled appointment, but thankfully, Susan didn't rush me and made me feel very comfortable with all her suggestions of "updating" and "enhancing." She also had a colorist come over and talk to me about new shades of natural blondes for the Spring. I could tell from the start - she really knew her craft. Her small talk was to a minimum, which I appreciate and I even received a hand massage while Susan finished my hair into the most amazing style! I have never seen my hair so alive. I couldn't stop grinning at myself which is why I had to write this review....usually I leave a salon and have to go home to restyle my hair - but this was the exact opposite. I called my friends on my way home and insisted we go out, I was afraid my hair would never look this good again! It has now been a few days since my visit and I finally had to give in and try to recreate the look, and I was pleasantly surprized - I don't know if it is the new Aveda products I purchased, or this fab cut, but I did a pretty good job. It is so nice to get compliments on my hair again, it's been a long time! I highly recommend this salon, but in particular, Susan Ford - love her!!!!! (Just a side note, it's a bit pricey, but so worth it for great hair days)

My only quam is the parking situation. Thanks to the new LegoLand next door, we all must leave a few minutes earlier to scan the parking lot for a spot, but it's totally worth it when you step inside Asha! From the smiling polite girls who greet you to the warm neck pillows, tea and water upstairs, Asha always makes you feel welcome. So far, I have experienced one service from each department and have not had a problem yet! My hair colorist Heidi found the perfect hair color to go with my skintone and I am so incredibly happy with it! My haircut is literally PERFECT, not a hair out of place! Thanks to Kelly! As long as I live in this area, I will never go to another spa other than ASHA.

Pros: everything
Cons: parking

the spa at asha is terrible
i went in to get a facial. first off, the have 2 dressing/locker rooms/toliets. there is literally a toliet just sitting there randomly in one of the locker rooms. there is one sink in between them and one shower. the shower is alright, but it has some giant surge of freezing cold water that comes down on you. why? i have no clue. while i was getting my facial, she used one of those metal tools. i have never in my facial getting life have ever had someone use any scraping tools on me. it was terrible. and when i was trying to relax, all i can hear is the bumping music next door in the hair salon. i was already annoyed with my spa experience , but i was looking forward to my free blowdry from an intern in the salon. when i booked my appointment, the woman who wrote me in told me about it so i was excited. after my shower, i sat in the waiting area for an intern for about 30 minutes. 5 of the hair stylists were just chatting away doing nothing and the intern was just wandering around. so im sitting there looking like an idiot with soaking wet hair waiting. then she starts to blowdry my hair. i'm middle eastern and i have long hair so its long and thick. she didnt even think to separate it. she just started attacking my hair with a brush. i wanted to cry. i gave her my big round brush since she decided to try to tame my hair with those tiny brushes for women with short hair. i still cant get over how bad my experience was. never again!!! if you want to go to a good spa go to the city, spacio is one of my favorites. and until burke williams opens a spa in chicago, nothing compares to their spa in california.

So I am just a regular husband that wanted to do something nice for his wife. Unfortunately, I got her a gift certificate for this "spa" in Schaumburg. I have been to a spa twice in my life, once in Scottsdale (Camel Back Mtn), and once in the WI Dells. Both of those places created a total "environment" of pleasure, nice music, serenity, etc. Stay away from this trap/strip-mall in Schaumburg. Despite the description above, this is NOT a "serene setting!" While they may be able to offer a decent massage, facial, or haircut, they drastically overbook their facility. To have a line of 7-10 women waiting for a shower is a joke. To have people actually miss their treatment appointment times due to a lack of adequate shower facilities is also a joke.
They should not be able to use the word "spa." At best, they offer misc. services, but this fails to resemble my 2 prior experiences at other facilities that properly understand what a spa experience really should be.

To my dear wife...sorry...I'll make it up next year honey!

I just had to come on here and express my graditude to the staff at Asha Salon Spa. I was greeted with warmth and kindness as soon as I entered the door. The hospitality staff were friendly and welcoming. I got my color done by Heidi and my cut with Andres. Heidi did an outstanding job at going above and beyond what I could have hoped for with my color. She made me feel so special, attending to my needs and putting forth her grand expertise. She is truely a master of her craft. I would reccomend Asha to anyone seeking the ultimate in full service and luxury in the Schaumburg area. This is surely a place I would call home!

What an amazing experience. I was entertaining clients who were staying in the Schaumburg area. I thought a spa day would be a nice surprise for them as a way to "de-stress" and have some work-life balance (which spoke to the branding exercise we were working on for their company).

The massages and facials were simply wonderful and the staff was on-point, on-time, knowledgable and delicate all at the same time. My clients have already made appointments for their next trip, and I have made mine as well. Thank you ASHA for a wonderful, wonderful experience and stress relief.

I needed a haircut and i saw this place from the mall so I decided to try it out. When I walked in I was suprised at the prestige condition this place was in. Then I was greeted by the sweetest, nicest and most helpful host that ive seen in any salon. There cuts were great the coloring was great, but what most impressed me was that all the employees there were incredible and made me feel like a celebrity. And once again I really developed a report with the host. She was just so nice and down to earth. She alone was enough reason to go back to this salon as long as she works there. I wish I caught her name. All I know is I have been there twice, once on a saturday and once on a monday and she was hosting both times. If you see a girl with dark short hair and pink streaks your in for a treat. FIVE STARS!

ASHA fit me in last minute but surprisingly took their time in getting to know me and my usual cut and color. They found me a better color (actually) and took their time to make sure I saw the progress of the cut along the way. I hate to say it but my regular stylist knd of zones out of the conversation sometimes. Probably not good when cutting hair. ASHA was great and I am excited to have a new salon.

This is one of the worst expiriences for me. I went to Heidi, artistic director who is supposed to be the best overthere, She did my higlights in 5 min. than she left me with assistant who is frustrated with some interpersonal problems with other staff. Finaly, I got yellow/orange higlights which I didn;like . They told me to come back ti fix it and I went again. It is fixed but it only fixed, it doesn't look like what I expected from artistic director, I stil have grays and I just left salon.

I had a facial with Lillian at the Asha Salon in Schaumburg and it was fantastic. I found a coupon on their website for $20 off, so the cost was $75 -- which is a good price in the Chicagoland area.

When I arrived, I told them it was the first time I was visiting their spa. The woman at the desk upstairs escorted me into the spa area and walked me into the changing room. She handed me the "facial gown" and pointed out the robes and flip flops. She also pointed out the restroom, water and waiting area. She made me feel very comfortable and was very nice (not snobby).

Lillian started my facial by having me sit in a chair and soak my feet in hot water. She then had me close my eyes & gave me three different oils to smell & I picked my favorite (chamomile), which she used. She also asked me about allergies, if I've ever had a facial, etc.

She used many potions and lotions & I quickly fell into a hypnotic trance of relaxation, peace & tranquility. Honestly, I don't know what exactly she was doing (and I didn't feel the need to ask) but I enjoyed it. I especially enjoyed the foot/ leg massage while the steam was on my face and the other "little" massages of hands/arms, neck/shoulders, face/head.

Although this was only my second facial, I really enjoyed it and thought Lillian was great. She asked me questions to make sure I was comfortable, but was not overly talkative & did not initiate conversations (which is a good thing). When I would ask her a question, she would nicely answer & continue the conversation.

The only downside? There is a LegoLand next to the spa and when the music was low, I could faintly hear the kids next door. When I mentioned this, Lillian turned up the music to drown out the noise. Although the noise was never loud enough to be bothersome, it was a distraction. Hopefully, Asha will invest in some sound proofing material.

Also, be sure to bring cash for tips because they won?t add it to your credit card.

I had been going to asha since it opened in streets of woodfield. It is not the same as it was. The service has additute. I gave 3 chances = 3 bad haircuts , I am no longer trying. I asked for an experenced stylist, and I got the worst haircut I ever had and it took all of 15 mins.I even called and complained no response, nothing. I am shocked it is an Aveda Salon. It was up to Aveda standards 5 years ago but not now. Beware to all.

Peter gave me an excellent massage. He knows just how much pressure to use and where to use it. We had a consultation at the beginning of my appointment and then I drifted away. There was no talking during my massage I was able to relax and unwind from my daily routine. Truly an excellent experience. I will return.

I went to ASHA for my first time a few weeks ago for a little change. I had gotten highlights many times before, but was not happy with where the color was going. I decided to try a new salon and new colorist. I went to Marisa because I heard she was great. Great was definitely an understatement. I have never loved my hair as much. The salon as a whole was not to die for. There was no one at the desk when I came to check in, and small things like that. They also have these warm neck pillows that they rotate between people and it seems as though they dont get cleaned between clients. (Maybe I'm wrong, they just seemed kind of gross to me.) However, now that I have Marisa I will never see another colorist! She definitely made my experience at ASHA worth while.

Went to Asha for a haircut and color. Which was Recommended highly by a friend. Found it was beyond my expatiations. Tina had a lot of energy and helped me figure out what I wanted. I was very happy that she took the time to listen to my needs as I was Indecisive as what to do with my color. Following my Color I went to Alexis for my cut. She was Great. She as well listened and helped me figure out the perfect cut! Not to mention she highly entertaining. and very funny. Overall the services were Great! I was extremely pleased to how attentive the staff was to my needs. Although it was a little pricer then what I was accustomed to, I feel it was well worth it.

I went to Asha for the first time and saw Marisa for color and Andre for a cut. They were both exceptionally amazing. I was slightly nervous to get my hair colored, because I had never done it before. Marisa was great. She was so thorough in her consultation and made sure she took time to fully understand what I wanted. I didn't want a big change, just some subtle highlights and she did just that. I could not have asked for a better job!! I'm so pleased with my new hair color. Andre was also wonderful. I only got a trim, but even the trim was great. He cut just the right amount. I liked that he did what I wanted, and not just whatever HE thought was good. All in all, this was a great experience, and both Marisa and Andre made my appointments extremely enjoyable, with their professionalism and welcoming personalities! I'll definitely be going back!

I have been going to Asha Streets of Woodfield for quite awhile and my hair has never looked better! I went to Alek before he left and now he is back! Thank Goodness!! He cut my hair perfectly! He really took the time to listen! I couldn't get in to my regular colorist, on vacation or something..Carmen was fabulous! She was quick and also did exactly what I asked for!! So much better than what I had been getting for the past year or so! Best color ever! I was thinking about changing salons until these two gave me a practical makeover that made me feel like a new woman! The only problem I have had over the past couple years is when you call to make an appointment the girls are very rude and also I do not like blowdrying my own hair when I have just got my hair done. What is that about? Well, I will be back to Asha but only for these talented hairstylists.

My usual salon couldn't fit me in last minute, so I thought I would try ASHA. It's no surprise that they had availabilities last minute. I went in for highlights, expecting that with the price they charge, my service would be exceptional. Wow was I wrong! I was seated in the color chair, and the very rude and impersonal colorist inspected my hair without saying a word. While she was doing that, a wet haired client of hers from earlier came up and told her that she missed a big chunk of hair. My colorist instructed her to sit in the chair next to mine, and she would fix it. She proceeded to fix the girl's hair while I sat there for about 10 minutes, without being asked if I needed anything. When she came back over, I tried to explain how I liked my highlights, but she obviously wasn't listening. She slapped that bleach in my hair as quickly as possible, and then left to work on yet another person's color! I finally was brought to the shampoo bowl by someone who had been working there all of 2 days and couldn't answer any of my questions because she "hadn't taken any classes yet, sorry". This brand new worker put toner on my hair. The toner turned my hair a VERY dirty blond color- and when I say dirty, I mean a gross dingy color that made me look 10 years older. No highlights are even visible, it's all one ugly color. My hair was a pretty golden blond before this. After she shampooed my hair 3 times to pull out some of the toner, the shampoo girl lead me to the drying room and told me to dry my hair. I've never been to a salon that makes you dry your own hair! That's fine, but how about telling your first time clients that they should make a blowdry appt and expect to pay an extra $30 for it!! I left completely angry. I called and they offered to fix it, but there was no way I was letting anyone in that unprofessional salon touch my hair again! I'm not hard to please, I usually leave the salon feeling pretty... definitely didn't. I do NOT recommend this place!

I got a gift card about a year and needed to use it before it expried... so I decided to get a facial. First, I tried to make an appointment online (which is an option through the aveda salon website) and I never got a response. It's not a big deal, but why offer online appointment bookings it if it's not going to happen? Anyways, I called and made an appointment for one of the focus facials. The place itself is nice, although I don't understand what the point is of having to check in twice (once downstairs and again upstairs). I was shown into the changing room and and put on my robe and sandals and then went into the waiting room - which was nice, but nothing special. Then I was escorted into the spa room, which I have to admit, was pleasing to the eye. First was a 5 min. foot soak where we discussed my skin type. Then I slipped onto the table and under the heated blanket... and then my facial "started." The only thing that I enjoyed was when my shoulders were massaged for 1 minute with lavender oil. The facial consisted of her (1) washing my face, (2) putting a mask on while she massaged my shoulders and feet for 5 minutes, and (3) putting on a moisturizer. That was it! I hardly call that a facial...more like a waste of money! I don't blame the aesthetician, she was really nice... but come on Aveda! Give me a little more than that! My time was up in 20 minutes....that includes the 5 minute foot soak. Needless to say, I'm not going back...

I have been going to ASHA for over a year. I got a Gift Certificate and started going and getting my hair cut and colored. Ryan and Jeff @ the Streets of Woodfield location are absolutley Awesome. As for the personel that actually take your appoints they need to work on. Before Christmas I tried desperately to get in to see Jeff and it seemed that nothing would work and the person was so rude and actually told me that i should not have waitied until the last minute. Since my job has me traveling I try to fit in the Salon deal as i can. Plus it was Decmber 4th. So the only bad experience with ASHA is trying to make appointments.

For my birthday, I received a gift card for Asha salon & spa and I decided to give a few of their treatments a try. After 5 different massages and 1 other spa treatment, I left feeling sorry for my family who got me the card. I was so excited to get the various spa treatments and left disappointed each time. To begin with, booking an appointment is a challenge in itself!! I could never reach them over the phone so I would have to resort to driving there and making appointments in person. Although the atmosphere is beautiful and relaxing, the workers simply do not know what they are doing, and for the prices they charge, that's a real shame. I definitely will not be back there again. What a waste.

Since this place is a block from where I work,.I thought I'd get some color and a cut, knowing better. I would have gotten better results going to a day care and handing over the reigns to a 5 year old. Is anyone here over 18? And on top of it, they have this better than though attitude. If I heard "oh, ma, gawd!!!" One more time I was going to lose it! No one in this place has the talent to do what they are doing,..I looked around while I was getting messed up. It was like scene from the twilite zone.

Although I did not utilize the "Eyebrow Lounge" my experience with the regular eyebrow waxing at the spa creates an inference that anyone seeking a good eyebrow wax should go elsewhere. First, I was never asked or consulted about my particular preferences for eyebrow shape (apparently there is something called the "rule of the brow" which estheticians use, which is fine for the novice client, but c'mon for $30 I better be getting what I paid for). The service was rushed and ended in lopsided brows. Although my esthetician was apologetic my brow experience was truly disappointing and upsetting. Given that Asha holds itself out as an Aveda spa and charges a premium for its servcices it should hold itself to a higher standard, which is what I wrongly did as a client. Dare to go but prepare to have your brows demolished!

I had heard that Microderm was an excellent choice for treating mild to moderate acne. My wedding was about 2 months away and I decided to get a few sessions of microderm. After consulting a friend, I decided to go to Asha.

They offer a very relaxing environment and the microderm was effective almost immediately. What set them apart from other spas that I have visited was their technical advice. The lady that worked on me used to give me advice on achieving faster results and give samples of products that would help my skin. I received personalized treatment and it was worth every penny.

PROS: Effective treatments and personalized service
CONS: A little on the pricey side

I go to Devon for haircuts and he does such a good job. I love the aromatherapy oils they use on your hair and sometimes they come by during your cut to give you a hand massage. They only use Aveda products which can be limiting in the kinds of styling products the stylist has at their fingertips.

PROS: I finally have found a good stylist
CONS: Expensive

I wanted to treat myself to a haircut at a nice salon and I was very happy with my haricut with Nomi. He was very nice and upbeat. He made me feel very relaxed and he listened to what I had to say--so the haircut actually came out the way I wanted it to. The shampoo was very relaxing and while I was getting the haircut I received a hand massage at the same time. Pricing was average, but the location was good--close to home, lots of parking--nice upscale atmosphere without the hassle of having to go downtown.

PROS: Ample Parking, wonderful staff and services.

This is yet another good spa in the area for a quick day of R&R. The Asha staff treat you very well, and you can definitely get some pampering when you are here. The decor is very subdued and relaxing, which adds to the great atmosphere. The prices are comparable to other spas in the area, which means that it's pretty expensive!

How this place got a 9.3 rating is insane! The only reason I went to this place is because I completely lost my mind. First of all, everyone is in their own little world. And it doesn't appear that anyone is over the age of 21. Which I don't like due to lack of experience. And sho' nuff! I had someone barely out of highschool playing with color. She did the worst "highlites" job I ever had! EVER! And I've been getting highlites for 25 years. Since she was busy with phone calls planning her social life, she gave me an all over color, with a few highlites around my face. I looked like a skunk!! At least use colors that are in the same family! the haircut sucked too.

Asha is conveniently located in the Streets of Woodfield strip mall. It is a small salon and spa that features Aveda products. They have a wide range of spa services. My friend goes here for their swedish massage and she always has great things to say about it. I would recommend this place for a day when you want to relax, but also don't want to go too far from home.

PROS: Convenient location and they use high quality Aveda products.
CONS: Services are a bit on the expensive side.

Once you are able to get into the salon, it is very nice and the service is excellent. But I have contacted a particular hair stylist 3 times to see if I could reserve an appointment with him and he has NEVER called back! It doesn't matter how good he is.. that's bad customer service. I also tried to make an appointment on line, leaving my telephone number, 2 days has passed and no one has contacted me yet!! I hope they can work on improving this.. otherwise, they'd be great!

I haven't seen anything like this in the suburbs. Very large salon and spa with friendly staff, they have some extremely unique services to revitalize you, like the Himalayan Rejuvenation treatment. Very calming spa area. The decor is very tasteful, had almost an Asian feel to me, very comfortable. Worth the 30 min. drive from the city, and if you live in the 'burbs, there's no question this should be part of your routine.
