In the fall of 2010 i went shopping for a replacement hot tub. I had shopped several locations for a replacement of an old caldera hot tub. When i came into the great escape i was very skeptical about there service from what i had read online. But the sales staff was very friendly and they showed me the all of the differences on the tubs that the sell. We did a wet test on there jacuzzi 365 and fell in love with it. Three weeks later we had it delivered and since then we absolutely love it. We have since then gone into the store for chemical questions and have always been treated with courtesy and respect. i would recommend the great escape to all my friends

I have recently purchased viking hot tub from the great escape close to 4 months ago. The salesperson explained all of the options and different brands that they carried. After a couple visits to other retailers i finally pulled the trigger and bought a Heritage 2 i back in July. I love it!!!. Just to let you know i also had a service call for a small problem and there service was out within two days to fix the problem. Overall I have to say that i am very happy with my purchase

These complaints are not just on this location but on like for example, Gurnee Ill location . I was charged and billed for eleven pieces I received five, promiced by delivery pepole and by numbers of managers that the table, chairs, and umbrella would be deliverd within a week or two, they led me on for a few months, (it gets better) during this time the owner of G.E is elusive never ever ever did he return the calls after calls after calls. I went the only route I had left and notified the finance com. CITY FINANCIAL. of fraud before the loan was fully consumated, needless to say I put in four fraud claims and every one they over turned . Even after a excellent spotless credit history with them.Now I have a continuence in civil court as a judgement was placed against me I refused to make a payment. I seen in the past on rip-off the same story on the same store, I have to be back to court on oct 28 at 10 a.m. Can any one out there please help me if they had the same experience and contribute to the same rip-off, please notify me at tedsewruk@comcast.net (BUYER BEWARE)

This store is a rip off. No backing of its products and misrepresentation of its products. We purchased an automatic robotic pool cleaner (The Blaze) after being told some great things about how it performed etc. We felt that the sales person over embellished the abilities of the product. After using the product, we were greatly disappointed how the cleaner worked or should I say didn't work. We wanting to exchange the cleaner for a different type so we called and spoke to the sales person. He offered to us to do the exchange, but the store manager rejected the offer. We then called corporate management and they wouldn't do the exchange either, no matter how unsatisfied we were. We even told corporate that we would never purchase from them again but still their answer was NO. Please Note: this cleaner was purchased with a pool, ladder and more, total sale valuing well over $5000. This is how Great Escape values their customers.

We now do all of my purchases with Leslie's Pool Supplies and have been greatly satisfied with them.

Great Escape corporate, we hope you read this, We have never since purchased a thing from you and never will.

We spent great deal of money to buy some very nice wicker furniture for our porch. We were insistent that it be the "synthetic wicker resin" and NOT the wicker loom. We were told several times over by the salesperson that what were looking at was indeed the wicker resin. Well when it came it was NOT the resin we were promised so I told the salesperson (in person) and asked to return it for what we had asked for. He informed me he was wrong and because the items were custom pieces they could NOT be returned.

On another note...this place never gave us the "real" price. We were told we were getting a sale price but I have no idea if we did because we were never given an original price. The receipt and invoice only had a total. We couldn't get prices for the individual pieces either. This is a HUGE sign of a rip off in my opinion. I've learned a valuable lesson in this transaction, so much so that I can't stand to even look at the furniture I bought without feeling regret.

We purchased an 800.00 umbrella prior to July 4th. It was installed and one hour afterward we noted that the installer that we tipped-slit the material when opening the box with an exacto knife, and it cut through the umbrella. We have been calling and dealing with customer service, Aurora location and no one has called back, but we had a message from John on the phone that he was looking into it. That was 2 weeks ago and he said he would call back and to date....nothing. I just spoke to the Manager Tony at the Aurora location and he said he would look into it. However, the fact remains that we have an umbrella that is ripped and it has been almost a month with no solutions. I suggest using some other store besides Great Escape for your purchases in the garden areas. I also noted many complaints online regarding the same type of issues but with the Jacuzzi purchases from them. The old saying "BUYER BEWARE" stands true for The Great Escape also!

The Great Escape has a very large selection of American made billiards tables, and a few of the cheaper Asian made tables if that's what you're into. The store has recently undergone remodeling and the selection is even better. Prices are about average, but delivery was free!
