Don't bother. Whatever food that gives me indigestion and a dirty sticky atmosphere. The people are fairly friendly, I guess. Try the new place in Woodstock Y'all! It rocks, a tad expensive though. Cheaper than the Texan

The food at Texan Barbeque is always good. I love the smoked turkey and all of the sides. The service is friendly!

Went twice in two days because once just wasn't enough! Had baby back ribs the first time and they were melt-in-your mouth tender with an amazing taste. Second time tried the 1/2 chicken and found the same tenderness with it's own amazing flavor. If I lived closer to here I would be a regular. As it is I have something AWESOME to look forward to on my next trip to town. Don't be put off by the restaurant's appearance, you're there for the food. The food here is worth eating if you have to sit in the middle of a mud puddle!

We LOVE Texan Barbeque. We have been going there for the last 15 years. We usually order take-out as the restaurant is quite busy and doesn't seat a lot of people. It definitely has a western flair as far as the decorations go.

I've never had a bad meal there and I LOVE their spicy sauce. The babyback ribs are my favorite. When you order a dinner, you get your meat plus baked beans, slaw, roll, and a HUGE baked potato.

I highly recommend Texan.

As many times as I have been to this restaurant, it is very popular, and as many dishes as I have had, I have to say that the food is absolutely wonderful, but for some reason every time I go the service is not good. It just seems like it takes a really long time whether they are busy or not. I don't think it is the server's fault, but what the heck is going on?

Having a love of BBQ and having been to Texas a number of times, I can say you can have
the real thing right here without making the trip. I don't know anywhere else in the Midwest to get the real Texas chili (all meat, no beans). All the barbeque is smoked slow, and the sauces are true to form (get the hot or mix it). A friend from Texas felt right at home here-not surprising since the owner is from Texas. Also a great selection of beers and soft drinks. Ambience? Perfect for what it is!

It doesn't look like much, but the food is terrific. We've been going there for close to 20 years. Try the "Big D". It's the best! Great chili also. Three barbeque sauces to choose from!

Don't be too put off by the appearance: it is rundown outside and even more so inside; and you are assaulted by hot, stuff air when you open the front door and walk through the "parlor" area towards where you order. YUCK! Enough to make anyone turn around and leave. Persist, however! The barbeque is very good -- just remember it as TAKE OUT rather than eat in. The dining area is slightly seedy; the tables and gummy feeling. Get your food to go, with a blanket you can travel a block up to the banks of the Fox River and have a wonderful summer picnic.

Pros: good 'que, great for take out, cheap in price

Cons: yucky digs, uninviting appearance
