I fortunately got an appointment at Wedding Belles because of a cancellation. My mother was in town from Alabama and we were just going to LOOK at dresses. Our first appointment was with Wedding Belles and our consultant, Amanda, was amazing. She was knowledgeable, and immediately knew my taste. She made the experience exactly what I wanted it to be. Again I was not expecting to buy a dress that day, let alone the first place I went, but she pulled the most beautiful dress that fit me and my style. My mother and I definitely had a moment, and I am glad I had the opportunity to share that with her, we went into the day thinking we were going to just try on dresses, and we ended the day with a beautiful gown and an experience I would not want to share with anyone else. The staff at Wedding Belles treat you like you are the most important person there, you are not just a customer. I highly recommend going to Wedding Belles. You will not be disappointed.

I went to Wedding Belles after getting frustrated at other stores that let you wander and don't help you until you state you're going to leave. I didn't like the selections at chain stores either. Wedding Belles has a fabulous variety of dresses and they take the time to listen to your needs! My consultant found the perfect dress for me- showed it to me before all the others and had a great sense of humor.
It was a fabulous experience that my bridesmaids and I enjoyed! Thanks Wedding Belles for not being so high pressure and scary like other wedding shops. It was a great experience and I'd recommend no other bridal shop. I'm sure I'll even go back for my jewelry and shoes!

I visited many bridal boutiques in the city and started getting really annoyed with the attitude and the pressure, not to mention the price tags! I thought "wow, shopping for my wedding gown should be fun" but I was just frustrated. Am I being too picky? Maybe I just don't know what I want? Then my aunt mentioned Wedding Belles... I am so happy she did! The ladies working there are so friendly- they actually enjoy what they do (they smile, joke, make the process fun). They kept bringing dresses for me to try on, different veils (even put my hair up). I bought my dress that day. I actually came back and bought some beautiful wedding shoes half off the other weekend. Love it!!!

Wedding Belles has a good selection of sample & once-worn dresses, plus a smaller selection of dresses that can be ordered. The service is what really distinguishes the store. The women I worked with both were very good at identifying what I liked & finding more dresses that had similar lines. Marcia, the owner, even called me a few days later to let me know that a new dress may be coming in which would fit my needs! The prices were very reasonable. Also, they went through the process of fixing my hair and finding a veil & other accessories so that I could see what the dress would look like for real!
I ordered my dress in early May, and just got a call in August that it has arrived, so delivery was even quicker than expected!

I bought my dress at Wedding Belles in 2003. This is a bridal shop located in an old historic house. The setting was very comfortable and the staff was very helpful. When going to wedding belle's it really is a hit or miss trip. they don't have tons of dresses but the one's they have are very nice. I was able to get the perfect dress for around 500 dollars. My dress was made by a well known designer and was just as beautiful if not more so than many of the dresses I had tried on for double the price. The reason my dress was cheaper is because it was ordered by someone who never came to pick it up. So as I said it is hit or miss I have known people to find great dresses and I have known people to find nothing.

This wedding gown store is in an old Victorian house. You must call well in advance if you'd like to go on a weekend because each girl gets her own room and attendant to help her in and out of the dresses. They also supply the correct undergarments so you can get a true feel of how the gown will look and each room has three way mirrors. Most of the gowns are samples, so you can get a very good deal. My only complaint is that one of the saleswomen (not mine, but one in another room) kept pressuring me to get a gown that was out of my budget. It made me a little uncomfortable, but everything else was wonderful during our visit.

This is a fantastic place to shop for a wedding gown due to the wide range of styles and sizes. These gently used gowns are priced reasonably and 99% of them are high quality and 100% of them are in like-new condition. There are never any stains, rips, or anything like that. It's an old Victorian house with lots of rooms so each bride gets her own bedroom to try things on, with plenty of space for your mom, maid of honor, and whomever else to stay with you. The staff is not pushy, useless, nor conceited like oh so many other bridal salons. After the wedding if you don't want to keep your gown in a box in the closet for the next 30 years only for your future daughter to eschew your taste in dresses, you can resell it to Wedding Belles and use the money to buy yourself a little reward for being so practical.
PROS: great prices, selection, service
CONS: barrington is a pretty far-flung suburb

If you are intimidated by the wedding dress shopping experience, call and make an appointment! This wonderful shop is worth the drive. The staff is supportive and warm and there are dozens of dresses to try on (no imagining dresses ten sizes bigger!) in every size and style. Skip the fancy salons. You'll find the same dresses here and a much better experience!
