Count on Cog Hill to spend the day playing great golf courses. They have 4 courses in all-Courses #1 & #3 (Built 1920's) are fun for the beginner and average golfer. Course #2 (1950's) is sporty and so much fun for all golfers. Course #4 (1964) is a "Championship" course in every sense of the word. Cog Hill had been around a long time and it is a place you can always count on to play great golf courses! They also have the one of the top Learning Centers in the country with the finest teaching professionals. Bonus...Only 35 minutes from downtown Chicago.

I was lucky enough to score tickets to the Western Open this year. Cog Hill is one of the best places to go in this area to catch a national event that draws top pros like Tiger. The club handled all the event very well. Adequate parking, traffic control, and everything like that. I've never actually played here, so I can't tell you about course conditions, but it looked fun -- and of course very, very challenging.

Long, plays longer. Need a mortar to hit the greens in regulation

Pros: Fun, Value for your money, even Pros dread it

Cons: Frustrating, bring extra balls, Can you hit a 1 iron?

Not for the mere duffer - play some serious golf here on some beautiful fairways and greens. If your challenged by a more difficult course, then it's possible your 'focus' can result in an improved score!

After playing a round last summer on one of the lesser expensive courses at Cog, I was not only not impressed I felt cheated.
Poor conditions of greens and continual waiting were not reflective of a typical $70 loop.

There are many local courses in this area that are in better condition, better controlled and won't cost the price of a nice dinner for two.

Cog Hill is one of the best golf facilities in the entire country. The No. 4 course (Dubs Dread) is a golf experience that is both challenging and fun.

The Course
Cog Hill has four regulation courses. The first three are challenging for experienced golfers but also have just enough rolling hills and open fairways to keep beginners from selling their clubs. Course No. 4, however,…
