The Toyota 4-runner that I bought at this auction four years is the best car I ever owned. Got it for $3,500 plus few fees. The second time we bought a Mitsubishi for $2,000. Had to replace the windshield, but what a great car until my daughter totaled it. I highly recommend it.
But you have to pick the right car. :-)

I wish i had never went to auto auction of harvey. this is my first car, and i couldnt get any finaning since i have no credit, so my only option was to buy. I had about 1200, and my parents were willing to pitch in a little bit. The day of the auction I had work and my parents went to check it out, suprisingly they bought a car. for $2200!! I dont know what they were thinking.. we had to go through hell to come up with the money. Then on the day of pick up it was $3000 with all the fee's and taxes..we had already put 500 down and didnt wanna lose that..The car was dinged up on the side they didnt show, the mileage was 182,000 miles! god. i tried to look on the brightside..but now 2-3 weeks later ive had to get the battery change, front and back breaks, spark plugs and now the starter!! that puts another $1000 in. totaling:$4000. WOW. i could've bought a nice 2001 sante fe with 90,000 miles for $4000 at the dealership..i feel ripped off and scammed, and hate the car i have.

What a huge scam ! they sck.
You get one hour to look at the cars however you bid on cars with out knowing the millage or even letting them run for 10 minutes. when confronted with asking about the millage I was asked to leave.
Only a idiot would use them

This Auction is really All about LET THE BUYER BEWARE. . One enters the auction as I did. They make your register for the day. When registering they talk to you and tell you that you can not bid what you can not afford. They try to befriend you. Then they have you sign the registry. which is anything but a registry. It is a form saying that you recognize doc fees and all sorts of charges. Then one bids on lets say a 1900.00 dollar car. By the time you pay all these nonsense fees , wihtout the taxes , title , plates and transfer , you will pay an additional 4-500 dollars in hidden fees. The owner nothing but a crock and a cheat. Feel free to call the Harvey police and ask them about all the complaints . They get 100s of them a yr about this guy and his scams. I am even willing to bet that this woman that posted the good comments is really the owner in disguise. I wonder on the Doc fees the minimum fee was about 300 dollars. So how prey tell did she get a car for 100 dollars ? I think the owner of the auction is pretending to be a woman on that post. Not that I don't think he dresses drag anyways

I purchased a car along with a warranty. I began to have transmission problems. I returned to City Auto Auction and was told to contact the number on the paperwork. I called for weeks on end,and when I was able to get through I never got a return call. I believe that I was shammed.

the transmission just went out, couldn't shift in gear

I have only good things to say about the auction. An hour before the auction starts you get to go in the lot and review all the cars to be auctioned. Bids on repossessed cars starts at $100. I got a car from there and it lasted me for about 2 yrs before it gave me any problems.
