To be sure, this gym is past its prime. The machines are old and creaky. The view is of the parking lot. The staff is quite indifferent, but I still like it. It doesn't have that "scene" feel, which is nice sometimes. I wouldn't want to use thsi as my everyday gym, but I like the variety. Sometimes you just want to work out and get it over with and this one's fine for that. I like it's lost in time feel.

I normally dont use this Bally's location but I had to because I was closer to this gym than my regular gym. I found their place a lot smaller and very overcrowded. I had to wait several times just to use a piece of equipment. Also their equipment wasnt as good or as clean as the Bally's gym that I use on Cumberland Ave. Their staff are not as helpful as my regular gym and their personal trainers there are lacking in experience.

PROS: Good location
CONS: too busy and over crowded

This Bally's location seems to be suffering in comparison to others I've visited. Much of the equipment is showing its age, weight machines are creaky and worn. One large room at street-level with dreary view of parking lot. It's fine for a basic workout and there are ample cardio machines, but all in all, I would go a mile east and head to the Roger's Park location for a more cheerful, high-energy atmosphere with more modern equipment.

PROS: Basic workout, not terribly crowded
CONS: Dreary environment, dated equipment

Editorial from

The Scene
Most Ballys stick to the basics for their design. Televisions broadcast silently above multiple rows of cardio machines; mirrored walls act as the primary decorative components. But thanks to high-energy television ads…
