Just steps from Wrigley Field, Merkles is a Chicago bar & grill providing great food, drinks and entertainment at a great price. Patrons feel like a regular in their comfortable atmosphere. Merkles hosts some of the best buffalo wings in Chicago, a mouth watering $6 Angus burger and fries (offered before Cub games) and their famous Fish Bowl drinks (Bootie Call, Orange Whip & Screaming Viking). Merkles is named after Fred Merkle, a NY Giant baseball player from the early 1900. Despite a stellar Hall of Fame worthy career, he?s infamous for a base running gaff that cost his team the Pennant and sent the Cubs to the 1908 World Series. The Cubs went on to win the World Series in 1908 but have never won the World Series since. Until Fred gets his due respect, the Cubs will never win again. So they opened this bar & grill to give Fred his proper respect and lift the curse forever.
Merkle's is less than a block from Wrigley and has some really good specials.
Wed is 20 cent wings
Tuesday is $2 burgers
They require a minimum of $20 to use credit cards. I recommend bringing cash.
