Every time I go into the johnsburg store I find over ripened fruit, dented fruit, or bananas that never turn yellow.Vals' has great prices but the produce is always poor quality.

Even though I shop here every week, I wouldn't give them anything over 3 stars. I usually shop here for all my deli meats. They carry the same brands as your major grocery stores, but their prices are 1/2 or less than the other major chains.

Their homemade italian sauage with cheese and green peppers is a winner. So is their fried chicken, olive salad and of course their cannoli's. Try the chocolate covered ones. Yummy.

You have to pick through their produce. It's not the freshest. Cheap prices aren't always a good thing. A lot of their fruit is overrippened and bruised.

The store isn't the cleanest either. It's not filthy, but it's far from sparkling clean.

You have to watch out for their sales. A lot of the times, items are close to expiration date. I bought a ham here once. What a great sale. It smelled good while cooking, but it had an awful spoiled taste to it when we all sat down to eat it.

They do have good sales too. I only shop here for deli meats and sale items. You'll run across good sales on pot roasts and chicken. Their steaks are high priced, I wouldn't buy them here.
