I have been going to Essington Road animal hospital for the last 6 years. I have 2 dogs and two cats my pets are my world. The receptionist is a little short but she has a heart of gold. I like not having to have an appointment because my pets don't get sick on a schedule. The prices are reasonable sometimes I think they are underpriced, I would never go to anyone else.

I LOVE this place! I have been going there for years and for 3 of those years I went on a tri-weekly, bi-weekly, weekly, and monthly basis as my beloved rottie was very ill. They were so patient and caring, but yet very real with me. I could not imagine going through this with any other vet. I do have experience with other vet offices being in the pet business and they have always been the most impressive over all. Dr. Stef, Dr. Yo, and Debbie will always have a special place in my heart for helping me through the last years of my Chevy's life. I recommend them to friends, family and clients. Very grateful I found them years ago. Also, they will not try and charge you for unnecessary things or try to encourage you into procedures not needed. Meds are priced below 1800PetMeds as well.

Does anyone know of a good vet in Joliet/Shorewood area? I too have called Essington Road 2 times to make an appointment and the front desk lady cuts me off and is very rude. Timberline is not any better, I left that vet because he charged me for a vet visit and didn't properly look at my dogs leg. Why don't these vets understand WE LOVE OUR ANIMALS and we want them to do their job and care about them too.

I've been taking our four legged family members to Essington Road Animal Hospital for fifteen years now. Every staff member has always been kind, compassionate, caring, and friendly. They were there with hugs and consoling words for our family when we lost our beloved Keeshond to a terminal illness at the age of eight years old. And again when we lost our 18 year old Kitty due to natural causes. Our ten year old cat is still with us today because several years ago Doc got out of bed on Christmas Eve and drove to the office in a snow storm (I kid you not!) to save his life. He would have died in the night if not for the emergency care he received that evening. He remained there as a patient through Christmas day and the next day and received excellent care during that time as well. On more than one occasion I have had to take our dogs in for ear re-checks and have not been charged for these visits. I could not ask for a better group of people to take care of our pets' medical needs and to answer questions and offer advice about general care and behavior concerns. Wonderful, wonderful folks!

I have been taking my pets here since they started in the building next door. The staff has always been great. The doctors have come in for emergencies at all hours and never turned me down. In the past, I took my cats to an emergency vet in Oswego and both doctors wondered why I didn't call and bring them in. Any time I have called with a concern, they have listened and helped. They have always worked with me to find what my pets need if they cannot provide it - including arrangements to take my dog to University of Illinois Veterinary School for specialty testing and treatment. They have always offered me options and showed compassion and sympathy when I have lost pets. Their prices are more than in line with other places. I will continue to be dedicated to this place like I have for many many years. My sister and mother also have taken/take their pets there also and have NO complaints.

I've used this animal hospital for years. You cannot find more caring veterinary staff!!! Dr. Youseff is wonderful, and has performed very difficult surgeries on my pets with no complications. The office is always clean, and prices are comparable. Very skilled, compassionate doctors. Often when I have questions, I'll call the office, and get phone advise- free of charge. There is a 24 hr number given to clients for emergencies, and you get one of the veterinarians 24 hrs a day, 7 days a week. I could not be happier with these doctors!!

I am really upset with this hospital and the staff. I have taken my animals here for a while and the front person has always been very unfriendly, but I still continued to go, because I liked the doctor. Well, we were gone for the night and my two dogs got into a fight and my daughter called the vet to ask if she should bring the one dog in, as her whole side of her face was just bleeding and the ear was damaged. He said he didn't know, as he was not looking at the ear and to just put ice on the ear and call him on Monday. This was on Saturday night, and she was pretty bad. I ended up taking her to an emergency hospital at midnight and she is now doing okay, sore and still bleeding, but okay. With my vet's careless reaction for her injuries, she could have died. I will no longer go there and do not recommend anyone to go there, unless you want your animals to be treated like they are nothing!
