This place is horrible! They use frozen food. They microwave it. And it still takes forever on a slow night.

Never eat this crap. There are so many good restaurants in this city. This place is a bad representation.

First, let's talk about what Cafe Con Leche is not. Cafe Con Leche is not a coffee house or a world-class restaurant. It has neither extensive seating, nor air conditioning, nor late-night hours, nor waitstaff that consistently speaks English. But I still love coming here because Cafe Con Leche still makes the best huevos con chorizo I've ever had and has Horchata to die for and does make a mean cup of cafe con leche--without the aid of Intelligetsia beans. (I know... blasphemy!) It's also a great place for people watching. I'm never disappointed at the colorful characters that grace the doorway of this establishment. It's really a meeting place for all the people in the neighborhood: the gossipy abuelas, stroller set, and hung-over hipster. It's also a great place to kill time before catching a movie at the Logan.

This place is tiny -- only six or seven tables -- but they serve some really excellent Spanish/Cuban breakfast plates. I ordered the Chilaquiles and my girlfriend ordered the Hobo Skillet. My chilaquiles had a TON of tortilla chips and not enough egg, but the flavors were so terrific I could forgive the lopsided ratio. Service was no-frills and friendly. It was our first visit to this neighborhood place, but we'll definitely come back for a cafe con leche, a Cuban sandwich, or a breakfast in the near future.

Pros: Delicious breakfast, friendly service, cheap, parking lot in the back

Cons: Small
