What restaurant that wants to be considered above a 1-star rating serves as their hash-browns a frozen pre-formed manufactured rectangle of potatoes that is then deep fried in grease? I can tell you for certian it's not the Victorian Manor. When I sent it back to the kitchen for the American fries instead, I was served a pile of sliced potatoes, also deep fried. Quite revolting, I must say. I've had much better at a greasy fast food place at 1/4th the price. The service was good, however.

I'm not a huge fan of the Victorian Era, but I can certainly appreciate this gem! The restaurant is in a beautifully maintained Victorian house, and the decor is so warm and inviting - it's like having dinner at Grandma's house!

The menu is diverse enough to have something for everyone, including kids. The meals were delicious, and reminded me more of a good homecooked meal than dining out. Again, I thought of Grandma and her holiday dinners. With some places, the entrees are of a meager size, which leave you hungry enough that dessert is a must. Others serve such a large portion that you leave feeling bloated and uncomfortable. The Victorian Manor serves dinners that are just the right size (I'm a 225 lb man, and have an average appetite!)

I had the roast beef dinner, and my wife had the meatloaf - both were very tasty. The side dishes were mashed potatoes with gravy and a tasty, lightly seasoned corn. Most dinners come with a choice of salad, pasta salad or soup. My wife said the pasta salad was good, I had the tossed salad w/blue cheese dressing. We both had iced tea, which definitely tasted like homemade, not from a mix (free refills, too!).

The service was flawless. Our waitress was attentive, without being a pain. As with just about everyone in Geneseo, the staff was very friendly.

There wasn't one thing that I could complain about with this whole dining experience.... especially when the check came. A nice dinner for two, with beverages, came to just a hair under $20!!! I felt obliged to leave a hefty tip for the lovely young lady who was our server.

I definitely recommend the Victorian Manor, and will be returning again very soon!

One reviewer complained about less than satisfactory service at 7:30 p.m. Even on Valentine's Day, the hours are 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Why they took a reservation for closing time is beyond me but give it another try. Holidays are no time to judge a good place in a small town.
Tell the owner what happened or send them a letter. But give it another chance.
It's a great place to eat, good food, great value and good service.
Hardly a romantic evening spot but excellent breakfast and lunch.

We went for a "romantic" Valentine's Day dinner. It was everything but romantic. I felt like we were infringing on the staff to arrive for a 7:30 reservation. We were seated by the kitchen door, even though the dining room was nearly empty. We were seated by some chatty teenagers who were more interested in taking pictures of their desserts with their cell phones and chatting with the waitress than anything else. We were told, after we asked about dessert, that "we could have dessert, if we wanted it." They were sweeping the floor and turning out lights around us as we ate. If they didn't want to accept a 7:30 reservation for dinner, why didn't they just say so. I can't image ever going back.

This is such a wonderful and cozy place to dine. The menu is wonderful with so many choices. The prices are great, the waitstaff is divine. I can't say enough about this place. I highly recommend it.
