This is place is great. I highly suggest you go here if you have some type of a traditional mens haircut. I have been to nearly every other place in evanston since I started going to NU and they were all terrible. These guys have been cutting hair since before I was born and know whats up
First time there... it's hard to find "real" barbers these days (with all the hair 'salons' and super/great/awesome/wowza-cuts around).
A TV with the Cubs game, interesting people coming through to get their hair cut, and a couple of guys that are actually good at cutting hair. (I think there're 3 of them, but I only met Jay and Victor).
Can't ask for much more. I'd recommend calling first for an appt - I got lucky, and I live close.
This was listed as the closest place to get a hair cut to my apartment, so I figured I'd give them a try. This is the traditional good time barber shop with two nice gentlemen cutting hair and dishing out good conversation on sports and the world. It's a nice atmosphere. Price was about $15 and I think that's fair for the experience and a decent cut.
