Words can not describe how disappointed my boyfriend and I were with the quality and taste of food we ordered from PF Changs. I by no means consider myself a food snob and although I go to Chinatown regularly and expected a degree of 'westernization' from this restaurant, I was still shocked at how disgusting this food was. The hot and sour soup was a glue-like salty concoction while the lo mein noodles were barely fried and in some places so congealed that they had not even been separated and fried properly. The szechuan was a deep fried tomato tasting excuse for a dish with no heat whatsoever. I can honestly say that I have enjoyed better food cooked by friends who are so hung over they can barely stand. Respect your tastebuds and your wallet. Don't waste your time or money on this rubbish!

Cons: Just horrible food....is that enough?

Very dusty and dirty restaurant, uniforms are ugly, food quality is terrible, compared to Northbrook, and what is up with that shelf they have upstairs where they keep all the dirty plates from previous guests? Can we say Health inspector please?
The restaurant is so dirty, I understand they are on a street corner in downtown Chicago, but please guys get it right. Easton and Northbrook are the better locations and have better food quality. Fix your uniforms, those black ninja outfits are terrible!

I have taken numerous out of town guests here - mostly friends from Europe, one of which who lived in China - and he thought it was great. Each time my guests enjoyed it. Maybe it's not the most authentic Chinese - but it is very good food. I would highly recommend the crispy beef. Would also recommend the king pao chicken. Chicago is tough to find good chinese food - but this place gets the job done. Service was friendly and efficient and our bill didn't break the bank. If only they would turn down the air conditioning....we all froze.

Pros: Menu that offers something for everyone

I went here for a quick lunch one day. It was pretty empty, although it was a weekday. We sat upstairs, where there is a large room with dark wood tables and red accents everywhere. We ordered lunch bowls, and it was okay. Definitely not the best asian food I've ever had though. The service was good, and it is an elegant vibe to it even though it's pretty casual. I would recommend going at night more than during the daytime, since the upstairs has nice windows, and the city lights would add a lot more to the experience.

For a chinese restaurant this place is a disapointment. Me and my girlfriend waited for 30 minutes to be seated on a thursday night. Three of the receptionist where arguing among themselves who to seat first. . when we were seated the floor was disgusting, rice and chopsticks where on the floor where we ate. the food came another 20 min later. it was not that great, i had better food and cheaper prices at china town the chow mein had no taste wats so ever. it was so bland. This place is we wont ever go again

Its pretty good, only it is definitely not Chinese food -- lets put it this way. American is 1, and Chinese is 10. I would say that P.F. Chang's is around 2 to 3. It is seriously closer to american than authentic Chinese food. Although, as a Chinese, I have actually found the food not that bad. Its pretty good, only its not the best. I think personally that Yu's Mandarin is way better. But, to my surprise, everyone said in their review, "Long wait." When I went there at seven o'clock on Tuesday, we were seated prompty.

Pros: no real pros, really

Cons: minor con -- it wasn't real chinese, though

The lighting and the decorations were nice. The waiters were annoying, talking too much, asking too many questions and would not leave us alone. The plates were not clean, there were pieces of dried food stuck to it and couple of pieces of old rice stuck on the bottom, the waiter went to get the manager and took off the wanton soup off the bill. Just to let you know this is not authentic chinese crusine, food tasted like a frozen dinner with little chinese ingredients. It's too fatty and salty but I guess most westerners grew up eating McDonalds and hotdogs so this is what they are use to. What makes a great asian dish is the rice, I know this because I am asian, and grew up in an asian home. The rice at PF Chang tasted like uncle bens rice or minute rice, it was dry, cold, clumpy, hard and tasted like it was sitting there for few hours. I asked for a new fresher bowl of rice, few mins later the manager showed up again asking what the problem was, except this time he as little rude and sounded annoyed. Ingredients in PF Chang does not come close to the real thing, go to a chinatown in a city nearby if you want real chinese food.

It's sad that people who eat here think they are eating Chinese food, it doesn't come close. No doubt this Americanized impression of Chinese food suits the tastes of many, but if you are a true fan of Chinese cooking, than you will want to stay clear of this place.

I absolutely love this place. I have nothing but good things to say about it. I have been to this one many times. As well as the one in Shaumburg and the ones in both Phoenix and Scottsdale Arizona. I have never had a bad experience. Or a long wait. The serves are always so nice and attentive. But not overly so where they are being a constant interuption. The food is great. I love the lettuce wraps. I do wish the spicy foods were a bit spicier but they are very good none the less. It's an excellent atmosphere.

I have been to PFC a few times, once in Denver and twice here..I loved each and every experience. If you really love the great ingredients that go into Chinese, Pan Asian cuisines..you will love this place..because everything is so fresh and jumps off the plate at you. No its not your neighborhood China Palace but its a far nicer experience. I found it to be a great place for the 'Girls Night Out' parties.. The atmosphere is sharp, sleek, inviting, and very fulfilling... Its a wonderful culinary experience.
Good Eating!

Every time I go I always get their Spicy Chicken(their version of general chu's). Its addicting and is all white meat. The appetizers are smaller portions, but thats good b/c then you can eat more of the good stuff!!

Recommended dishes are the Chang's Spicy Chicken, Double Pan Fried Noodles and Kung Pao Shrimp!!

I love it, I love it, I love it! Try the wonton soup, the mongolian beef, or the beef alaschzswan. The chocolate cake is delicious and huge....you won't regret it. This restuarant is perfect for everyone due to the fact, it is very romantic and fancy, but during the day you can wear what ever you want. Prices range from 8.00-12.00 but you get large portions. Aside from food, try the Dragon Eye Tea or Ginger Peach.

I was recommended this place by a friend and was not dissapointed. As you walk in, you get the feel that you are in a different country. The place sets the mood. It gives off a warm feel and comfort with the dimmed lights and asian decorations. The food was great! If you are vegetarian there are many options for you here. I recommend the tofu lettuce wraps.

My second time at P F Chang's. The first time, I was going through a phase "vegetarian food" (only lasted a week).

Back to my carnivorous ways, I tried the chicken with black bean soup. Simply marvelous--juicy, tender chunks of breast meat, stir fried to perfection--lucky chicken :)

Highly recommended if you are interested in great ambience and delicious meats ... and not too caught up the "authentic Chinese" bit!

As someone who is Chinese, I find it very sad to see P.F. Chang's on this list. Why? The food they serve isn't even authentic Chinese food! Not only that, they charge a good deal more for what you can get at any "Chinese" take out place out there. If you want to rate Chinese food, first take a look around. If there aren't any Chinese people, take note!

Oh, people can be so incredibly PC. Rather than worry about whether the owner's ethnicity matches the food he sells, how about rating the restaurant on the food itself? That said, I have found PF Chang's to be a wonderful dining experience. Food was fabulous (try the duck and spinach salad....wow!!), pleasant atmosphere, reasonable prices (drinks a little hefty price-wise, however) and the servers a delight. What more could one ask?

Cons: Parking!, Drink prices

Was seated promptly and the flavorful food more than made up for our server. She was slow and lost major points when she proceeded to touch the top of our soy sauce bottle with her finger while she explained their dipping sauce. Glad I didn't need any extra soy sauce when the food came! She also did not have plates at our table when the food arrived. Other than her it was a great lunch.

You have to be kidding, a restaurant owned by a person named Paul Flemming is voted "Best Chinese"?? I'm insulted you would add a chain restaurant that you can visit in just about every large American City. Let's try "real, authentic homemade noodles" Chinese. Go to Yu's Mandarin on Golf and Mecham Roads in Schaumburg. That is excellent Chinese! Try Kung Pao Chicken, or Mu Shu Pork. And don't forget the Mai Tai!

this restaurant was terrible!we waited 20 mins for a table and another 20 before we could order. by the time my food got there( i ordered some kind of chicken) i was irritated and very hungry. it was something very similar to chicken nuggets and rice. and the vegtables it came with were like three small pieces of green and red pepper. for the price i could have gotten two decent meals. steer clear of this "fancy place".

I've found that PF Changs throught the midwest are consistently good. Inexpensive, good service, good food. The spicy dishes aren't very hot, but chili sauce is available at every table.

Good place for business lunch, dinner with friends or family.

It is the first Chinese restaurant with a wonderful
atmosphere that does not consist of the color
red, or gaudy "authentic" Chinese decor. The decor
is tasteful, and the cuisine is exciting. If you don't
like a dish, they will actually take it away and present you with another dish of your choice.

Orange beef is amazing, moo shu pork left a lot to be desired. The beef was on the table, the pork was waiting on the tray to be wrapped by the waitress for 5 minutes while she was taking the order of the neighboring table and allowing them to smell the hoisin sauce before rolling it into our moo shu.

If you want great Chinese Food in an American Atmosphere, this is the place to go. Hands down, the chinese food is the best I've had. I'm from South Louisiana so you can assume that I know what good food taste like. I've even tried the P.F. Changs in Dallas and New Orleans, and they are also great. Anytime I go back to these cities, I always try to stop by and eat because it's that good.
