I have had Joes crabs all over the USA and I still find time on business to stop into the Gurnee location. The atmosphere, drinks, food and desserts were awesome. Great service and a little entertainment to boot. If you are looking for great tasting crab legs you have to come to this location. My wife and I will be back on our next trip through.

Interesting seafood restaurant. Casual, interesting decor. We had a very good and attentive server, and an enjoyable meal for five, including an appetizer, that came out to less than a hundred dollars.

As someone who doesn't really enjoy seafood, I opted for a steak instead, ordered medium well. It arrived well done, dry and tough, but this seems to be a common problem for seafood places to get right. The kid's meal with crab was nice, though at $8.95, it was twice as expensive as all the other kid's meals, but it is great that they at least offer it.

They celebrate birthdays and other events by having the special person do something dumb/silly, such as putting on a cowboy hat and galloping around on a stick horse. Nice touch.

The food is better over at Bob Chinn's, but it seems like it is more expensive there too, and the atmosphere at Joe's was more enjoyable.

There are several Joe's in various cities across the country. They're all pretty much alike.
Thye have a good delection of seafood, including crabs of course. The decor is supercasual, with big rolls of paper towels on the table.
The food is not gourmet, but it's good and plentiful, and nicely seasoned.

This chain has lots of seafood but isn't really anything special. The portions can be large but what they lack in quality they make up for in quantity.
