American Family Fitness may not be the high tech gym some people are looking for but it does seem to be a local favorite amongst many bodybuilders and people jsut wanting a fun friendly place to fo workout.

I gave this place 5 stars because it is exactly what I want in a gym.

The place isn't ever that busy. It is huge (many pieces of equipment I have never seen before), and has plenty of squat racks and free weights. It's a fairly dark gym when compared to most other gyms, and that's a good thing. I actually am quite surprised that this place has been open as long as it has (large building, lots of equipment, not very busy). Although it does have some small setbacks (lack of maintanence, small locker room), it is definitely a great place to move some weight around.

Bottom line: If you want to pump iron, this is the best place around.

American Family Fitness is a little different than most of the high priced disco type clubs that have popped up. Here you can still move real iron, sweat real sweat and even make some noise. Although the owners area little delusional about their gym, their passion is rarely found. They have been open 30 years and know what they are doing.
