Its the middle of May and they won't turn the heat off. The apartments are like saunas. Management doesn't care and this happens every spring here. Its uninhabitable in my apartment- 87 degrees. Its been this way for days and I have to move out to get some sleep.

This place looks nice but it is WAY overpriced and the management is horrible. I have had numerous problems since I have moved in and each time the management has displayed poor attitude and an unwillingness to help.Frequently there is dog pee in the hallways/elevators, the ventilation is terrible and I can smell people smoking all the time, my dishwasher broke and flooded my apartment, the doorman are lazy and unhelpful, the dry cleaning lady is rude, you can hear various noises (loud music, appliances running in other apartments, toilets flushing, etc.). The main problem though is that these apartments are too expensive for all of the problems we have to put up with and the location is NOT that great (Cabrini Green is right next door).Do not live here! There are plenty of other places that are in the true Gold Coast that are the same price and much nicer!

Looks good when you first walk in..but it so cheaply appointed. The bathroom cabinets are only doors no drawers, Who has ever heard of no drawers in the bathroon sink area??? That is how cheap everything is!! Horrible lighting glares in your eyes with giant cheap clear ball lights. The appliances are the cheapest on the market..garbage. They turn the air off as soon as the temperature drops but then it always goes back up and you spend weeks suffering in the heat. The worse is the noise level. The windows only open a crack. You can't hear yourself think between the constant sound of sirens and those horrid motor cycles that scream up and down La Salle and Chicago Ave. Great maintenence men and office staff but one nasty little doorman (the others are great). Absolutely gorgeous view from the certain corners which is good as you will spend the entire night awake due to the noise. They call their kitchens 'gourmet' . The kitchens are horrible and cheap cabinets with cheap fromice counters. Too bad, these could have been built better, more sound proof with decent cabinets..Also had all my things mold in their storage area...lost a ton of things.

PROS: View is great from some apts.
CONS: Noisy, cheap appliances, costly parking, cheap cabinets, bad lighting, mold

I lived in this builidng for a year. The apartments look nice-- lots of white; light-colored carpets; modern high quality appliances every where, washer and dryer in the unit. These apartments were initially built (on a former parking lot) to be condos, but after much of the building was done, it was decided that they would be apartments. There are only about 8 units on each floor. There are many nice amenities--the best cable package I've ever had included in the rent, a computer room with Internet, an exercise room. Parking wasn't too bad--there was permit parking on the block and you could park on LaSalle and side streets west of there--but I drove only about once a week or less.

However, there were some serious drawbacks to living there. This sewer smell would waft in from the bathroom every so often, a few times it became severe and the engineers did something to the toilet to remedy it. I lived in a studio, and my neighbors could hear everything--TV, cooking, phone conversations, yet somehow I could hear nothing in their apartment, it was very strange. There was something with the air flow throughout the building--a building staff person explained it to me--that made it so that fumes from all over--the other apartments, etc.--would enter your apartment. Everything was fine as far as this for almost a year until a smoker moved in next door, and it was just like they were smoking in my apartment too. Once I saw in the stairwell someone wrote in huge letters on the wall "I hate this building", so apparently other people had issues with the building too.
