Larry & Dan's Marathon

I love Larry & Dan's. Their professional,friendly,great customer service. I have been going to L&D for almost 20 yrs. I buy my gas & have repairs done there. Dan has helped me out on several occasions, and has gone above and beyond when he didn't have to, with rides, help with my daughters car, it's a family atmosphere. Schaumburg is lucky to have a station like his in their community. I highly recommend L&D to anyone who needs an honest mechanic.

I have been going to Larry & Dan's for over 10 years and never had any problems. I get my gas there and have had work done on my car, they always do an excellent job! I trust them with my car. I would highly recommend them if you need work done on your car.

I had to take my car here because of a strange noise I was hearing from underneath the chassis. Not only did they look at my car immediately, they diagnosed the problem and had me out the door for under $20! I think the whole process took about 20 minutes. Granted, this was a minor fix, but I went to Larry and Dan's based on a colleague's recommendation and based on my recent visit, I would also recommend their service.

I have read the other reviews and I am very surprised at what these people are saying, I have been going to Larry and Dan's for over 15 years and I have found them as honest and trustworthy. It is not always that you can talk to your mechanic and get an honest recommendation. They have been in business since 1960 and there is a reason why. I highly recommend this place for any type of car repairs or service.This is a professional business and I do not expect that they would look at my car for free. You do not have to believe me, go to the station and see for yourself!!

DO NOT believe anything good about Larry and Dan's you read here. These guys are posting their own phony reviews about "prompt work, great service..." It's total boloney. But this is fact:

I had a dispute with a charge. They told me I couldn't even have my car back unless I paid a bogus "service & parts" fee for them to look at the car. So I used my spare key to steal MY car. That's right these bozos forced me to steal my own car! Then they called the police! For $35, I thought forget it. I paid over the phone and asked that my receipt and key be mailed to me. Three days later they said it had been mailed. Seven days later they said I needed to speak to the owner to get my receipt and key. Nice policy. So this time, I called the police.

Got my key back and will never trust them with ANY of MY property again. By the way, I took the car to a reputable shop after I "stole" it off their lot. It was test-driven, diagnosed and fixed for under $900. These morons at Larry and Dan's told me it would run $1,600 for them to take the car apart and figure out the problem--then parts and labor for anything that needed to be done. Do the math youself--it adds up to incompetency at best and to thievery at worst.

Great work, get technicians and very prompt with quote and work. I would go back in the future for all my car needs and would recommend Larry and Dan's to any one I know.

I called and explained my problem over the phone. They said it sounds like it's the clutch, which is what I told them it probably was. Mechanic drove it, but did not notice a problem. Said they'd have to take everything apart to figure out what was wrong and it would run about $1,600. I said, "No thanks." They charged me $35 for "looking" at it. No mention of a charge to "look" at it was made when I dropped it off. Would not recommend this place to anyone.

I had my car towed in to this service station because it would not start, After changing two parts they still could not get it running and they tried to charge me $190.00 but I complained to Dan the owner and he reduced the charges to $79.95 for nothing.
I had to get the car towed again but this time to the dealer.
