This place is great! I love all the different varieties of the food they offer there! Everything looks sooo good and fresh! This place is a must try! The workers there are great! They do there best to help each and every single customer that comes there! Overall this place ROCKS and I recommend it to everyone!

Great food available here. Lots of home-made specialty Polish goodies. My problem is that I am not Polish and don't speak Polish. Apparantly very few employees here speak English and what there is is fractured. Today, they featured a delicious looking apple custard pastry displayed on top of the deli counter in meat-loaf sized portions. When I asked if it could be cut there was a big language problem before my request was finally refused. I was also told that it couldn't be frozen. My question is why something so perishable was displayed at room temperature and why not offer to cut it into buyable portions in order to sell it before it spoils?

It became apparent to me that they had no patience with me since everyone on both sides of the counter were speaking Polish. When I asked for a specific sausage I had bought there before, using it's correct Polish name, I was tols, starkly, "no." So if you don't speak Polish don't expect any courtesy at Helen's Deli.

Pros: Great food

Cons: Rude, inexperienced counter people who are not interested in helping non-Polish customers
