Steakhouse  4 Star Rating - Very good

Rosebud Steakhouse is conveniently opened for lunch and dinner. The menu is varied, so you don't have to eat beef only. The chop salad is very good. They have a full bar.

Great food. Bad Attitude. 1 Star Rating - Unsatisfactory

Like many places in Chicago - this is a great spot for a steak. But I will never go back there. The staff is friendly enough but the ownership is terrible. Having booked our reservation far ahead of time - we requested a very specific area of the restaurant. Not only wasn't this honored, but when we were seated, it as at the worst table in the whole place. We are regular customers and live right around the corner from the place. But when we asked why we weren't seated where we had requested - we were told outright that those tables are reserved for "regulars." One of the owners even had the nerve to tell us hs consulted some list the place keeps - and of course we weren't on it and therefore not of the correct cast is be seated where we wanted.

This place acts like they are the only game in town - when in reality there's so many other places with BETTER food and that treat all their patrons like welcomed guests.

Skip this one, folks. The overpriced food isn't worth the bad after taste.

Pros: Good Steak
Cons: Horrible service

My Favorite Place for Steak, Chicken & Crab Cakes 5 Star Rating - World class

When we visit Chicago there is no better place to eat than Rosebud's Steak House. Although its name says Steakhouse there is much more entree's to choose from and they have the best Crab Cakes and Chicken as well. Not only is the food fabulous but the staff is wonderful and the atmosphere is wonderful. When I am in town for a visit from Michigan my first place for dinner is this wonderful place.

Big disappointment 2 Star Rating - Wouldn't recommend

I'm a local and a fan of the Rosebud chain. But our recent experience as the Rosebud Steakhouse was enough to change all that. After having made a reservaiton, we were seated 20 minutes late while tables sat idly by. An apologetic if not competent waiter tried to make up for our original disallusionment, but this was short lived as the food arrived too slowly. To cap off the evening the half steak and veggies we couldn't finish and asked to be wrapped were lost. We found this out after weaiting another twenty minutes. The apology was weak and the promise of a replacement "meal" resulted in an ounce of steak and a sprout of brocolli aftger about another 15 minutes. We have decied there are better ways to spend our time.
