Well, where to begin? My mother and I went to the Bride's room in November '08 to look for a wedding dress. Our appointment went really well and after looking at another store my daughter decided that the dress she saw at this store was the one she wanted. Everything seemed to be great! We ordered the dress and left happy! We then went back a few months later to order her veil. I wish I could have seen into the future to see what was awaiting us! A disaster! The veil arrived and had the wrong trim. The storeowner, Karen, told me that it wasn't a big deal and that I should take the veil and use it at the trial hair appointment scheduled for that same day. This I did. She informed me that first thing on Monday morning she would order a new veil, they would put a rush on it and we would have it in a week. Well needless to say that never happened! It would have been great if they would have contacted me to say they would prefer me to return the veil before they order a new one! No contact! When the dress came in a few weeks later we went to pick it up and returned the incorrect veil. They actually waited for me to return the incorrect veil before they ordered the new one. Talk about trust!
I wish the story ended there! But the worst is still to come! We sat around and waited for them to find the dress which seemed to have been misplaced in the store! Very weak organization skills prevail at this store. There didn't seem to be any system in place. If there is, the customer certainly doesn't feel it! I turned to my mom and said, "Something is wrong" to which she assured me that I was wrong. It turns out she was wrong and so was the dress! We had ordered the dress with a sweetheart neckline and it came with a straight neckline. Jaime, the other owner was very apologetic and said she felt awful. To be standing there in my wedding dress crying is not something any mother wants to see. What should have been an exciting day was really upsetting. They did work on correcting this error by contacting the manufacturer, returning the dress and having it remade. So now we are 0-2. Wrong veil, wrong dress! I was wondering what other work they do because ordering dresses and veils correctly is certainly not their strong point!
Finally, the dress arrived yesterday. We went to try it on. Karen, the owner walks out and says to me" Hi, I am Karen, one of the owners" I thought she had lost her mind. She was the one who had dealt with me with the wrong veil! Did she not remember me? Not possible! I am not sure what game she was playing, but it was laughable! In the end the dress was great and my daughter was happy with it! Here's the kicker: I asked if there was any discount for aggravation! She tells me the dress is fully paid for. I was surprised. Karen told me that when the incorrect dress came in a month before they had charged my credit card on file. Wow! So when it was wrong, they should have given a credit and waited to charge it when the new correct dress arrived. I was furious! Then she told me she would talk to her co-owner and discuss a possible discount. I called today, as needless to say they didn't call me. Well, they decided that in the end we got what we wanted and that there would be no discount! Talk about customer service and public relations! It stinks! Goodwill goes such a long way! During this entire process they continually told me about the thousands of dresses they order that are right. I kept telling them that that didn't interest me. I was only concerned about my 2 orders that were incorrect! Oh! and by the way, my best friend ordered her dress from this store and she was a very unhappy customer as well. They ordered her dress in the wrong color and did NOTHING to fix it. We ordered the dresses around the same time otherwise I would definitely not have bought my dress there.
There are so many bridal stores to choose from. Take this one off your list and save yourself heartache.

Pros: near my mom's house

Cons: INCOMPETENT AT PLACING CORRECT ORDERS

.

I went to many bridal stores and none compare to the wonderful experience I had at the Bride's Room! I told the staff that I wanted an ivory dress and a non-strapless dress and they brought me tons of beautiful choices!

They were very efficient with my appointment time. I tried on many gowns quickly and then put them in piles of "like," "don't like" and "not sure." I chose a very sparkly dress and really fell in love with it when one of the staff members dimmed the lights on me and I knew it was the one!

When my dress came in, it was a size too small and I was terrified that I would have no dress. Instead, they fixed the problem within 2 hours and ordered me one size bigger and had it to me within a week. I was shocked how amazing the customer service was!

I have recommended many other brides to the Brides Room because they treat every customer like a friend! I love this place!!!

Cons: a little hard to find

When I got married, I was having trouble finding the right dress. I spent the first few months looking in magazines when my mom told me to look again. As soon as I did I found it. It was on the cover of Brides magazine. I called the designer to see where I could find the dress and they sent me here. It was the only dress I tried on and I fell completely in love but it was totally out of my price range. They worked out a payment plan for me as if I were their only customer. I also bought my bridesmaids dresses and was so thankful and impressed that they stuck patiently by me all the times I changed my mind on design, fabric and color. I was a very indecisive bride and they were there for me the whole time, helping me through it all. I even had a problem with my veil being the wrong color (my fault I choose diamond knowing my dress was ivory) They fixed it in a quick and friendly and patient manner. I can't thank these ladies enough for everything they did for me and I truly recommend it to anyone who is looking for an alternative to typical bridal shopping. I have managed a retail store for the past 5 years and am quite a stickler for customer service and I have never been treated in any store the way I was treated here, like a queen. Thank you Karen, Jamie, Paulina and everyone for everything!

Thanks for reading this - we have been in business for over 11 years and have played a part in thousands of weddings. It is still our pleasure everyday to be allowed to do so.
It is so hard for us when we see reviews like the one below. We absolutely remember this bride, and her "story" is truly that: a story. We would NEVER allow an order in the wrong color to be delivered - #1 - and #2 her bridesmaids needed SLIGHT alterations. We checked every girl on delivery. The brides expectation was for the dresses to come in perfect for every girl and when she realized they would need to see a seamstress, she decided she wanted to return the dresses to us - hence, the "wrong color" part of the story. She had complete control (as all of our brides do) as to what dress, color, etc. is being ordered on behalf of their party.
We can assure you a pleasant shopping experience with more dresses than you are used to seeing in one place! We pride ourselves on our customer service and know that we owe our continued business to referrals from our past customers. We value each and evey one of them, and hope that you will give us a chance!
Cheers,

DO NOT let the "friendly" staff fool you!!! I went to the store last August looking for bridesmaid dresses for my wedding that just passed in July. I ended up finding the dresses that would look great on all of my girls. I brought my girls to get measured and noticed how their sales associate was measuring them. She measured my one friend over her sweatshirt and over her jeans. I said something to her because I understand how measurements must be taked being a Fashion Design student, and the girl said that it was ok because she was pulling hard enough. I let it slide. Then my sister tried the "tester" dress on which was a size 10 and a little big on her, decided that she wanted to go with that size, but the girl who worked there ordered her a 12. My other friend who is tiny got measured also over her clothing and they said that she was an 8, my friends knew that she wasnt and told them, but they insisted that that an 8 is the size she was. All in all, all of my five bridesmaids got their dresses in two sizes too big and the wrong color. The dresses were suppose to come in tang/melon but instead they came in melon/tang. The owners blamed everything on me....but it is their job to pay close attention to detail considering that we were talking about an orange color scheme the whole time and I got pink!! They did not want to take any responsibility for their mistakes even though non of this should have happened. They run a very unprofessional and unloyal business....and one day they will go out of business due to many many more unsatisfied customers!!!

After going to 6+ shops in Chicago and the suburbs before here, I knew what I was looking for. The salesperson picked up on my style right away and pulled lovely dresses for me to try on. There was no hassle, no pressure to buy right away (like some stores), and they even had special lighting so I could see what I would look like at the reception. I thought that was a great touch as in most stores you are under harsh lights. I would HIGHLY recomend this store to any bride looking for personal attention.
I went over my hour and they were VERY accomodating to my mother and me. I even found my bridesmaid dresses here - they gave them a discount being I bought my dress from them.

Pros: One on one attention

Cons: Far from the city, but worth the drive

Be careful with these people. I was assured that the alternations needed on my wedding dress would be simple - WRONG!! Fortunately they recommended a really good seamstress who was able to work everything out.

Looking back, the salespeople were very misleading. I enjoyed my experience trying on dresses, and there were many unique styles. However, I would not trust the staff there, even though they may seem nice.

I bought my wedding dress at The Bride's Room a few weeks ago. All of my friends and relatives shopped there before and everyone has had the best time there. They are very high energy and very fun to work with. They know every thing there is to know about dresse, headpieces, etc. They are great and I would recomend every one to go there. I loved it and I love my dress!!!!!!!!!!

Wow...I just read the review that described The Bride's Room as "terrible" - too funny....I've been to the shop twice in the past few months and have had terrific experiences both times. A friend (who bought her gown there) took me the first time and I had a positive experience. The ladies working there were all super nice.... the place was clean....parking was easy....and I thought they had a great selection. I work in sales and generally don't like sales people .... I was afraid of a phone/hard sell which didn't help.

HORRIBLE! That's all I can say. I made an appointment and arrived on time. The salesperson "helping" me was awfully rude right from the start. She yelled at a friend of mine for taking pictures of the dresses and said it was cutting into my time. Meanwhile, 20 minutes into my (1 hour) appointment she left the room for a good ten minutes to do something else. When she came back she said very rudely "we don't have what you are looking for, so maybe you should come back in January". She then left the room and on my way out I saw her helping someone else. So much for their claim that they see only one bride at a time. Needless to say, I will not be going back.
