LIBERTYVILLE TOYOTA AUTONATION where customer satisfaction and loyalty count for nothing!
I would BE EXTREMELY CAUTIOUS in having your vehicle serviced here and, likewise, I WILL NEVER purchase another vehicle from this Dealership.
Twenty seven days after purchasing a new, never driven, 2013 Toyota Avalon Hybrid from Libertyville Toyota Autonation, we brought the vehicle back to the Dealership for installation of a remote starter installation which was part of the original purchase agreement. At this point, the vehicle had less than 1000 miles on the odometer.
The following day my wife was notified that there was a "problem" with the vehicle and that she should contact the Dealer. After contacting the Dealer, we found out that the "problem" was that the Dealer was unable to locate the vehicle. Our vehicle had been stolen from the Dealer's lot, a lot in which the Dealer kept its multimillion dollar inventory.
We later learned that the Dealer's security measures were grossly inadequate. We were told that they did not have a single security camera on site, either inside their buildings or in their parking lots. In the police report, it actually states that the exact date on which the car was stolen was unknown. In order to pull off the theft, the thief, or thieves, needed direct access to the room, inside the Dealer's building, where their customers' ignition keys were stored. In other words, to steal our car from the Dealer, the thief or thieves had to first steal our keys from the Dealer. How is that for taking care and custody of your vehicle!
The vehicle was subsequently found by the police 30 miles away from the Dealership in a high crime Chicago neighborhood where, according to the police, stolen vehicles are frequently dumped to be stripped down and sold later for their individual parts. All of our items of personal property, which we left in the car, had been stolen. (The vehicle was subsequently towed back to the police station.)
Interestingly enough, when the car was discovered by the police, our own license plates had been replaced with stolen license plates. The stolen plates were held in place with a license plate holder from Schaumburg Toyota and our Libertyville dealer sticker was replaced with a Schaumburg Toyota sticker , another nearby Toyota dealership. This makes us wonder now if the same thief or group of thieves that stole our car is also active at other Toyota Dealerships.
Because our vehicle had been new when it was brought in for the installation of the remote starter, and because we were unable to ascertain how the car was driven by the thief or thieves or what possible damages might be discovered in the future arising from its theft, we requested an exact replacement of the vehicle or return of our purchase price. We were promptly told that Libertyville Toyota would not agree to do either.
We then sought legal counsel and after having spent significant time, effort and money, the Dealer finally agreed to give us $1,000.00 and reimburse us for the cost of our stolen items, but only if we would absolve them of any future legal responsibility arising from the theft of the vehicle, and if we would agree not to speak disparagingly of the Dealer or of the events that occurred to our friends, family or media. In other words, we were offered $1,000.00 HUSH MONEY for our silence!
In the end, we walked away from this deal. My wife and I feel that others should hear this story as a warning. People should be able to reasonably expect that their vehicle will be at least somewhat secure when dropped at a dealership for servicing. How many people think that such a vehicle in the custody of a dealer is at risk of theft? As a bit of additional information about this Dealer, my family has purchased 5 vehicles from this dealer in the past, and I can tell you that customer satisfaction and loyalty truly mean nothing with LIBERTYVILLE TOYOTA AUTONATION or with the General Manager of this particular Dealer.
I would STRONGLY URGE anyone to be extremely wary when having your automobile serviced here. Apparently, in turning over your car keys to them, essentially giving them " Care, Custody and Control" of your vehicle, you cannot reasonably expect your vehicle, or the contents therein, to be safeguarded.
Likewise, now every time we drive our new vehicle, we are constantly reminded of how we were treated by this Dealer where CUSTOMER LOYALTY MEANT NOTHING and where CUSTOMER SATSFACTION IS ABSENT ! If you have a similar experience with them, I can assure you that you will NOT be singing, "I love what you do for me Toyota"! There is, however, a good chance that you will be using their other catch phrase," Oh what a feeling!...and what a feeling it is.....INSERT NEGATIVE SENTIMENT HERE !"

My first real business complaint that really forced me to take to the net, Egypt-style. My parents and I went through one of the worst experiences at the Libertyville Toyota. My mom and I started the ordeal at 6:00pm looking to purchase a new RAV4. At 7:30pm, my dad had come in to agree with what we got the price down to, and we finalized the deal. At 11:00pm my poor polite Korean parents are still waiting to get the car. I am utterly shocked at how long this takes, and I fully recommend that if you are ever in the market for a Toyota to never come to the Libertyville Toyota. Get your price quote and get it anywhere else.

I bought my Sienna from this dealership because they were close to me. I had a trade in, and while it was bein appraised the manager tells me - "whats that car worth ... $300"? Why dont you just give it to a wrecker?" And this was a car in very very good condition. In the end, my I got more than KBB value. I had no choice but to buy the vehicle from them since I had already signed the papers. He was utterly disrespectful and didn't care about it either.
When I went back for a service at 1000 miles as the manual recommends, the manager said I don't need service until 5000. New cars definitely need oil change early since engine is is still breaking-in. Then for the oil change at 5000 mi, I was made to wait 2 hours - this after I had taken an appt and they took the car in immediately.
I have sworn never to go back again, and have told all my friends and colleagues not to either.

I have had trouble with my wheel after hitting a pothole the tire was going flat. I called up Libertyville Toyota and the service was closed the I got a hold of the sales manager Adrian and he told me to come right in and they would give me a car to drive for the night. Dave Jr. called me first thing in the morning to tell my options with my tire and wheel and I checked around the price and they were the lowest. In my book these guys rocked. From here on this is my place for service.

I made an appointment there for a regular 3 mo service and waited for almost hours and I finally had to go and ask where my car was. I think they totally forgot I was sitting there and to tell me my car was done.

I would suggest everybody never to go and buy a car from this dealership.I purchased a Toyota Yaris and at that point of time a manager Michael Sharago sold me a Vehicle Care Protection Plan for USD 300. As I had plans to move out of the area in recent future I was not willing to buy the plan. However manager gave me a written guarantee that if I move out of the area he would ensure that I get full refund of the plan. After 3 months I moved out of the area and went to Michigan. Now I was not able to use this plan as they don't have any service provider in Michigan. Hence when once I was in Chicago area, I went to this dealer and asked for the refund showing the papers. A lady accountant got in touch with me asked me that I would get a refund of only USD 225 as the car has aroun 4000 miles on it and also there is a USD 50 cancellation fee. I was shocked as I had not used there service for even a single time. I showed them the paper given to me by Michael Shapargo. She told me that she would talk to him and ensure that I get the money. I gave them my phone number and michigan address to mail me the check and inform accordingly. In the whole process we just discussed the amount which I might get because of cancellation but never agreed on cancelling the plan. However in order to show their efficiency, they just went ahead and cancelled the plan. As I didn't receive any communication from them for next 1.5 months I called them again and they told me that the plan has been cancelled. I asked for my cheque and they didn't have any answer for that. Somehow later on I received a cheque of USD 50 but have never received the original amount. Whenever I call them they just keep transferring the phone the phone from one person to another in the finance department. I just hope that some day I would get my rest of the money back. But remember even if you buy a car from them, never ever buy any plans from them

They offer good service and they were able to give us a good price on our vehicles. In my experience, they have a lot better service than Schaumburg Toyota...and they had more selection.

PROS: Good service and greater selection.
