Dr. Joe and his staff are wonderful and we have been taking our furkids to Genoa Animal Hospital for many, many years. When our young dog Angus got so sick, Dr. Joe went above and beyond to find out what was wrong and to try to save his life. Angus died of bone marrow cancer and when we decided to have him put down, when he was so very sick, it was done with so much compassion - he wasn't alone as the vet assistants were with him to see him to his new forever home. We have great respect for Dr. Joe and wouldn't take our dogs and cats anywhere else. They are thorough with the exam, spend plenty of time talking with us about the issue that brought us in and even call a few days later to see how our pet is doing on the treatment. Two thumbs up, WAY UP.

This place is great. There is a very dedicated staff and a wonderful vet. Also for the person who says Doc cuts the nails too short, HE doesn't do the nailtrims. Veterinarians do not go through expensive vet school to trim doggie toenails!!! That is ALWAYS the techs job. And they have something called quick stop to stop any bleeding if they cut the nail too short. Also, I know for a fact if you ask for a "showcut" or mention that you want the nails cut very short the staff will do just that, which means the nails may bleed, it is much better than a dog with painful overgrown nails. Also like someone else said, if the owners would maintain the nails properly the quicks would never be long enough to cut during a nail trim.
There is negatives about this vet. Their hours are not so good because there is only one doctor. The best thing about this vet is that they really take an amazing amount of time going over general care if you are a first time puppy or kitten owner!!! Not enough people know how to properly feed and maintain a pet because more vets dont go over these simple things. The staff here truly loves animals. And I have more than enough insider information by the way... I used to work there and have multiple friends who still do. I only left due to very poor hours, which is the only negative thing about taking your pet there too.

I am the owner of three dogs and I take all of them to the Genoa Animal Hospital. They are always very thorough and only want what is best for my pets. I admit they make a big deal about dental care, but tooth problems can cause many other health problems that they made me aware of. I take everything they say into consideration and I can always get a second opinion if I feel the need. As for them cutting my animal's nails too short??? It happens. I have even made my dog's nails bleed by going too short. It's the owner's fault. If they don't keep up with the nail trimming, the quick grows farther out and makes it harder to keep up with. I would recommend this vet to others who care about their pets.

I have a friend that used to work here and she would always say how horrible the vet was to the animals. I do not see how he is still in business. He would always cut almost ever dog's nails way to short and theyd bleed. She would say some pretty horrible things about them I would go out of town to take my pets to a vet.
