I have been here at least half a dozen times and they are always adding new things to the menu. While one time I had a dish that was too spicy, most often being adventurous when ordering has paid off for me. The beer selection is very good and the vibe might appear hipsterish but they are pretty progressive - they have an ethos and how many restaurants can make that claim. Also they have a beer garden for the warmer months which has some bigger tables.

I dunno, I thought the service was pretty rude here. The one time I came here we had a large party and wanted to sit together but they were very rude about telling us that we couldn't--I understand fire codes but the tone wasn't necessary. They also wouldn't seat us without the full party even though there were a lot of empty tables, and the rest of the party was right outside. The unfriendly attitude seemed true of ordering, etc as well. The fries were pretty good but I probably won't be back.

Handlebar is one of those places that I tend to steer people toward when there's a vegetarian or vegan in our midst. Though their veggie-friendly dishes do tend to be on the spicy side (why is this always the case with bland vegan food? Spicy does not make up for a lack of flavor!) there are some gems on the menu. Their desserts and beer list also impress.
