My 2 year old and 4 year old are attending Happy Child right now, and it's great! There is a great family vibe there and the teachers really care. I feel like my children are learning so much everyday. They come home singing the days of the week, the alphabet song and other things. My son told me they sing Twinkle Twinkle Little Star when it's nap time. My 4-year old is bringing some good habits home from Happy Child and his behavior at home is improving as well. I feel blessed to have found this place!

The only thing that does not give it 5 stars is the location (right off busy street) and the rooms are somewhat small. Yes, it's a small place, but it's cozy and well organized.

They are under a different management now, so the previous posts don't apply.

I have been very pleased with Happy Child. I have had my infant daughter there since August. The staff is professional and friendly, and a few of them have been there for many years. When I go in, all of the children seem happy and engaged. Yes, it is an older building, but it's cheerful with nice picture windows and lots of child-friendly activities. They have a new Montessori program which they did a nice job demonstrating at a recent parent night. The infants are separated from the rest of the young children in their own room, which is a little bit quieter. All in all, I have been very satisfied with the care my daughter receives at Happy Child Daycare.

If this is the same owner as about seven years ago, I would say it is a place who are not nice to people of diversity. On the phone the owner told me to come in and that she needed a worker right away and impressed with my experience but

My visit with this daycare had me concerned a little, though it seemed reasonable as a backup. The infant-toddler-preschool rooms are all connected, which means the whole place is very loud. Loud, 80s-inspired kids music was blaring during my interview, and when I asked about the volume I was told that it was better for the kids to get adjusted so that they wouldn't easily startle. The infant room seemed the most calm/peaceful/pleasant.. The rest were crazy loud, chaotic, and had this really strong fruity cleaning smell present. The 'playlot' in the back is concrete and opens to an alley. (Though, a park is nearby and I was told that there are field trips there.) Still, the ladies who ran the place had a grandma-like feel, and the owner seemed fairly nice.

All of that said, I still was considering using this daycare because of the limited options in the neighborhood. I was told that there was no rush; call ahead and stop in. After I cancelled a meeting once because I was down with a cold and my kid had his first cold, I called the next week to reschedule. Over the call, I was told that, oops! the spot was filled. Now I knew how to play the waiting list game; in this case, however, I was told that there was no rush.

Fortunately, I got into my first daycare choice earlier this week. Hopefully, more daycare options will open up in this area for other, future families. This one is business, rather than kid, focused.

My 3 children attended Happy Child Day Care and it is an absolute wonderful place to send your child to. My middle child had a learning disability along with issues with hyperactivity. The director is an amazing woman who worked one on one with my child and helped him with his issues. She never turned her back from him. She did her absolute best to help him, and did she! My son is now 13 years old and has been on the honor roll. He even tutors younger children in his school! We credit all the efforts of the staff at Happy Child Day Care for all the amazing work that they do for children. This school is highly recommended!
