The Immigration Service did not believe that my first marriage was valid. After years of working with other immigration lawyers, but being frustrated with delays and then denials of my applications for lawful status, I went to Scott D. Pollock and Associates for help. Scott and his staff were knowledgeable and completely dedicated to achieving my goals. When the Immigration Service continued to deny my resident status and even tried to deport me, Scott brought my case to federal court to argue that the Immigration Service was violating my legal rights to information and to have my case fairly considered. This strategy was successful and today I am a lawful resident and able to work and live with my family as a free person. I am looking forward to applying for my U.S. citizenship soon. Scott and his firm were attentive to my needs, always honest and candid with their assessments, and offered flexible payment plans so we could achieve a positive outcome in my case. I recommend Scott D. Pollock and Associates to anyone who expects superior service and hopes for success in their immigration case.

At the time that we hired Mr. Pollock, he estimated that the cost for the full scope of his legal services and representation (mentioned in Representation Agreement, paragraph No. 2) will amount between $8,000 to $10,000. to completion. To this we agreed and deposited in advance $10,000 in favor of his firm. Three months later, Mr. Pollock has already billed us more than $19,000. when he did not accomplish a single substantive thing to justify his unreasonable, and excessive billing .
Even, he was discharged for cause, Mr. Pollock imposed a lien to all my files in his possession. These files were not his work product, and those papers are originals, irreplaceable and were not prepared by or obtained by him nor of his Associates. Obviously, his retention of my important documents will cause me harm and damage my chances of moving forward as soon as possible.
In reviewing this entire experience I read the ABA Canons of Ethics which, with respect to fees, reminds that the practice of law is designed to assist justice and is not a money-getting trade.

Billing at sky-high rates but spending a lot of time on routine legal work such as preparing filings or reviewing documents. Excessive billed time to complete a task. Asserting an "attorneys lien" even discharged for cause and paid for the limited services he provided.
Fee is unreasonable, more than customarily charged in the locality for similar services.
