WHEN WE EXPERIENCED THE SHADOW BAR IT WAS FOR MY COUSINS' GIRL FRIEND BIRTHDAY. THEY HAD ON THE INVITES THAT THERE WERE NO GYM SHOES ALLOWED!!!! SO WE DRESSED ALL UP , BUT WHEN WE GOT THERE FEET HURTING FROM HILLS AND TRYING TO DANCE ALL NIGHT OTHER PEOPLE WERE WALKING IN WITH GYM SHOES AND TIMS ON . I DON'T THINK THAT WAS FAIR THE RULES SHOULD APPLY TO EVERYONE. EITHER IT'S A DRESS CODE OR IT ISN'T WHATS SO HARD ABOUT THAT? BUT IT WAS NICE IT WASN'T REALLY TOO CROWDED AND THE DJ WAS OK . AT FIRST HE WAS PLAYING SOME GANGSTA BS, I MEAN IF YOU AT THE CLUB YOU WANNA DANCE HOW YOU GONE DANCE TO THAT BS? RIGHT SO DJ STEP YA GAME UP!!!!!! OVERALL IT WAS OK

I drove all the way from Indiana to have a ?good time? at the shadow bar
Instead I had a horrible experience. A very rude bouncer checked my purse I had a pair of flip flops in my purse I was told only 1 pair of shoes per person. (Really do we make up rules as we go along?) Why? His rude a** couldn?t give me a reason told me I have 2 options either throw them in the garbage or take them back to my car. So I get out of line to put them on the side of another building because I was NOT going back to my car STRIKE 1. Let?s try this again to get back. The same a**h*** checks my purse again and tell me I cant bring my earpiece for my phone in. Why. It?s a cord. So now I am a club strangler. I don?t have a Bluetooth so why can?t I bring it in, of course I get the 2 options again STRIKE 2 I leave the line again put the earpiece (weapon) in my pocket lets try this again. Get back in line his buddy (fellow a**h***) asked me are you ready now. Back to the original a** let me check and c if you have any thing else I refused this time u r not going back in my purse. Finally I?m in. Now I really need a drink then I get a RUDE bartender I refused to spend another dollar in that place STRIKE 3 DON?T Go to the Shadow Bar save yourself.

The Shadow Bar is a good club I really like how they search people and make them check coats. That is good for our safety I love goin on Saturdays because I have alot of fun with my friends and they play very good music. Every time my friends and I have a birthday we go to the Shadow Bar b/c we don't want to try another club b/c we're afraid we will waist our money. THE BOUNCER ARE MEAN.

Pros: I will go back b/c I like the music and atmosphere.

Cons: I don't like the bouncers and they need to show more respect.

i went that same night - August 16th. Kid Capri and Ice Cube were there... and PHENOMENAL!! Kid's set seemed endless and i loved every second of it!

i got there around 10:40 PM prepared to pay the "$40 after 10:00" i had been informed of on the phone... was only charged $20.
everyone was extremely cool from checking my ID to looking through my purse to the $20 thing... it was a great night! even the bartender shook my hand, told me his name and asked me to come back some time.
c'mon... you have to realize the people nightclub staff deal with on the regular! i think they did a great job and would definitely consider going again.

Pros: everything was great that night.

Cons: i really have no cons based on that experience.

I had won free tickets to get in this place for Saturday, August 16th, 2008, from a radio station. Ice Cube, and Kid Capri were supposed to be there. I had bought a new outfit, but had worn my gym shoes. It was, after all, a Hip-Hop show. I was told by the rudest bouncer ever that there were no gym shoes allowed. Doors had opened at 10:00, and what few people that were there, were still standing outside. I don't think that Ice Cube or Kid Capri were there. They probably had on gym shoes. And to the bouncer, threatening grown folks to have "real" ID's or else, was completely juvenile! Why be disrepected by anyone who works at a bar, before you even get in! I felt like I was in line for a concentration camp! There was a dude in the "male" line next to me that got scared and straightened up his act in line, once the bouncer had started yelling at us. He had made a comment that he had seen that bouncer before at another event, and that, the bouncer didn't take no, you know what. Maybe this is where you go when you wack!

Pros: within walin distance from the train.

Cons: the staff was horrible, even before you get in.

Please dont ever go there if you want to have a good time. My experience there was horrible, I was supposed to get a VIP Room and when me and my party got there we had to stand in line , first of all i wasnt supposed to stand in line because i had an V.I.P. Pass. Got inside and they told me that there was no more drink tickets,. Strike 1 oK Now where ready to sit down because we needed to rest our feet, lol there was'nt even any place to sit, I informed one of the staff members and she made two people move from an cocktail table and cleared a bench and said here , STRIKE 2. thE STaff there are really really rude, exculding one person, but everybody else there was totally rude they acted as if they didnt need anyone to be there! Strike 3 , I really do not recommend anyone to go there,. Please Find something else to do. dont waste your gas money.

I can describe Shadown Bar in three words: gh3tto, gh3tto and gh3tto.

Went last Saturday and was completely disappointed. I should have known what to expect when upon entry they searched my handbag. I guess they were looking for weapons, but instead they found a brand new pack of unopened cigarettes still in the plastic, which they removed from my purse and made me leave in a box at the door.

Even though they say they accept credit cards they do not-- not for entry, not for drinks. After paying a whopping $20 to get in (a lot for a woman), we had to take money out of the ATM (paying an additional fee) to buy drinks. On top of that, we were FORCED to check our coats-- another $3 each.

Then there's the crowd...please refer to my opening statement. I gererally frequent clubs/bars that cater to the buppie crowd-- young, college educated black professionals, but I'm comfortable in all types of settings. I wasn't entirely comfortable here. This crowd wasn't really the type where you find yourself worried that someone is going to get shot. But if you're into people watching, you'll get an eyefull here. Girls with rediculous hair-dos, outfits four sizes too small and six inches too short. Of course, the irony was that they all seemed to think they were doing some real high-class stuff. In a crowd of about 300 people (possibly more) there wasn't a single guy I would have given my number to.

If I'm going to drop that much cash on one night, I expect to be wowed a hell of a lot more. The only upside is that my cigarettes were still in the box outside when I left.

I will NEVER go to Shadow Bar again.

Pros: Decent music.

Cons: Too expensive ($20 a head), don't take credit cards, forced coat check for $3, unsophisticated crowd, they go through your purse and remove cigarettes/lighters/anything they feel is inappropriate.
