Mike at Chicago Transcraft really took amazing care of my car, but what's prompting this review is that he took such good care of me. I came to him with a transmission problem that cropped up after an accident and had never had any indications before the accident. He found clear evidence that the accident had caused it, but the insurance company still wanted to charge me to fix it. He went far out of his way to call the insurance company repeatedly, make sure the right people heard his side of the story, and in the end, the insurance company told me that they were going to cover the damage, and that it was pretty much entirely because of his extra efforts to convince them.

On top of that, Mike and the other guys at the shop always did a great job of explaining things to me in a way that acknowledged that, although I might not know what a converter clutch is, I'm not an idiot and can grasp the workings of a car. I always felt like I knew exactly what they were doing and why they were doing it, and never felt like I had to call a man in my life to have a male voice on the phone associated with my car.
