Went to McCoys Service in Channahon for alignment after some mechanical work by a mechanic who did not have an alignment machine. They charged to advise it needs work (pitman arm and idler arm) for $650 before an alignment may be done. Picked up vehicle and brought to another shop for second opinion who states the idler arm has no play and pitman arm a very slight amount of play but nothing that would prevent an alignment. There is no play between steering wheel and both front wheels when wheel is turned either way. I think they wanted to pad their wallets!

First, there should be 6 stars. I was at the Chicagoland race and trying to leave on Sunday. Truck wouldn't start, had it towed to McCoy's, and the service has been nothing short of top notch since it was dropped off. Did I mention that I live 500 miles away from their shop? I wasn't taken advantage of, not taken for a ride, nor was my repair put on the back burner because I'm not from the area. I'd recommend them to anyone, and if I lived closer, no one else would touch my vehicles.

Water pump broke on my way home from work on one of the
hottest days of the year - they picked me up within a 1/2 hour and because I live almost 40 miles away they fixed me up and
send me on my way - all after their normal business hours; all
this without charging astronomical prices. I'll go to George
before I ever go back to my local mechanic who told me it was
too far and to find someone else.

BMW USA sent McCoy's out to pull a car that was stuck on a woodchip (logging) road between my house and garage. The driver said his winch cable was broken, so he hooked chains between the truck and the car (which was a loaner) and then took between 10-20 RUNNING starts to yank the car onto the gravel section of my drive. The car had frame and body damage. My woodchip road was completely ruined. The owner (George) only came out after BMW USA threatened to pull their business from him. He refused to pay to have the road rebuilt and said he'd have his "crew" do it. This happened in April; it's now mid-September. I can't get the guy on the phone and when I drove to Channahon, their business isn't where my GPS, Google Maps or their own website says that it is. I've had previous experience w/ this George guy at his other business and he's not a man of his word in my experience. Time to call BMW USA again and get them on his ass since he won't answer or return calls...

All their tow truck driver did was complain about how he got such crap for money on AAA calls, which happened to be what I was using them through - to simply change a flat tire I got from a pot hole. He broke two bolts into my lug nuts and told me to take it to Wal-Mart - they'd fix it. When they didn't, the owner - George - denied to pay for the damages saying it wasn't his tow truck drivers' fault. Yet, his tow truck driver was the one that told me he didn't have any power tools (pure laziness on his part I'd imagine - I mean, who drives a tow truck without power tools?!) and so he used my lousy tools that came with the donut in the trunk of my car instread. Jumping on the wrench or whatever the thing is called to loosen the lug nuts and then complaining to ME when HE broke MY car about how he broke his ankle 4 years ago doing just that didn't help matters. Then he broke ANOTHER one doing the exact same thing. What a joke. I won't be going back here.

We just moved to the town about 2 yrs ago and needed a reliable mechanic. We have now used McCoy on 4 different occasions and they were timely & manageable financially.

After dealing with Enterprise (rental accident) and AAA and three days of headaches over our Christmas holiday, McCoy was the towing company finally sent out. Thank god for them - their small touches of humanity made such a difference to us and helped keep our sanity in dealing with the craziness and difficulties the "big companies" create. Good for you McCoy - and thank you.

My family just moved to the area about five months ago so we were looking for a reliable machanic. We tried McCoy Services. We had oil changes, new tires, a tow and under the hood work. They have serviced us well. All the work was done in a timley manner. I would rate this five stars!
