.

I went to Township Cleaners based on the Yelp reviews I read. I needed a pair of pricey maternity pants hemmed and pressed. I picked up my pants today and was greeted by the owner of the establishment, Young. I asked to try on the pants before taking them out of the store and she seemed a bit perturbed that I would make such a request. The length on the pants was good and the quality of the work was good but not great. I was glad that I tried them on though because in doing so I noticed a large black ink stain on the top of the pants (cream linen). I came out of the fitting room and explained that there was ink on the pants and asked Young if she could try getting it out. She proceeded to yell at me that I had brought the pants in that way and that she had nothing to do with the problem. I restated to her that I had no intention of not paying full price for the work but that I would like her to take a few minutes and try to remove the stain. She again told me no and for the next 10 minutes yelled at me and went so far as to call me a liar. Towards the end of the conversation she said she would take $2.00 off the price of the alterations so that I could have them cleaned elsewhere and the stain removed. I explained that she and I both could attest that the cost of dry-cleaning linen pants was more than $2.00. I asked how much she charges to dry-clean pants and she was not forthcoming. I ended up leaving paying $19.05 for the work with the original bill being $23.50. I'm 8 months pregnant and was becoming so flustered that I decided it wasn't worth the contractions that would ensue due to the stress of the situation.

During this exchange another customer came in to drop of a load of laundry and Young continued to yell at me in front of her other customer. I have never been treated so poorly by an establishment and couldn't believe that Young possessed NO customer service at all. I now have a beautiful pair of $120 linen maternity pants with a large black ink stain on the waistband, truly unfortunate.

I'm sure that if you never have a problem with anything that you pick up from Township you will be satisfied with their work but beware that if something does go wrong you will not be treated with the dignity and respect you deserve as the customer.

I was a first-timer to Township and Young had the opportunity to make a new consistent customer but she lacks the skill of customer service to ever excel in her industry or make me a believer in her abilities and her integrity as a shop owner.
