There's not enough nice things to say about DB! My husband and I decided to elope to Vegas but we still got married in a nice chapel so after having a nightmare experience at House of Brides down the street from there, I took a chance going into DB. I walked in saying "I'm getting married in a week, I am 6 months pregnant, I'm on a budget of $900 and I need a dress TODAY!" The staff was so friendly and helpful, found me a simple yet gorgeous empire waist dress, got the alterations done in 2 days and even found me a head piece, a veil, shoes, and earrings to go with my dress! All under $1,000! I'd recommend David's Bridal to any impending bride!!

Sure this is about the only bridal store in the area with good dresses at good prices. BUT their customer service is awful.
First, when I went for my wedding gown the girl kept leaving, mind you this was their first appointment of the day in the middle of the week. There was no one in the store. So her attention was no where near me. My friends and family ended up zipping the gowns and helping me in the dress.
In the heat of finding my dress I got pressured to buy a headpiece, that later on I did not want. When I went to return it, my response was well we can't refund money. Well I spent money on my dress, shoes, etc.. and my bridesmaids and flower girls bought their dresses here, I think to be kind you would refund me the the money, but they didn't.
My shoes were another story. I ordered them, and wanted them dye. No issues there, but when I came to pick them up, they were the wrong color. I ordered blue and got red. so I had to wait two months for my shoes. I got nothing in return for my inconvience just an Opps.. sorry they sit in the back and sniff the dye all day. They probably just were high off those fumes.
I would not go to this on. I've been to the on in Schaumburg and wish I lived closer to their to give them all of my business. They had very helpful staff.
Also if your going to call to see if your dress is really there to save yourself a trip. Don't do it. When I was there on my many trips, they got a call to check and put the person on hold and giggled about it and told the person it was there. Just go there and see, b/c then they can't giggle and laugh. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL

First off the bat, I am told that we need to have the dresses ordered in June or they may not be in for the wedding in October, She pulled up an arrival date for the dress after I already paid for it and says "Oh it will be here in 3 weeks" ok fine but to tell people it may not be in in time for the wedding to lock in the sale cmon be realistic!! I then get a phone call in July from Davids and she says to me with an attitude "Are you gonna pick up the dress?" This is the first call that I received about the dress and she was acting like they called me 20 times or something..I then said " This is the first call Ive gotten from you" she says "Oh really?" She acted like I intentionally wasnt picking up my dress, I didnt know it was in!!!!!!! Noone contacted me!!!!!! but anyways so then I go to pick up the dress and I get dirty looks because I have my 2 babies with me, strapped in the stroller mind you, I guess they frown upon bringing kids in with you.(well after they get your money anyways!!) I say Im here to pick up a dress, she gets the lady to get the dress and I wanted to check it out and try it on before I left (Yes even though I had my 2 kids with me, heaven forbid) The lady tells me the dress is in room 15. I go to the room, the lady is gone dosnt ask if I needed help with the dress or any questions or do you need anything.Nothing!! I go into the room to find the dress hanging in the dirty nasty SHIPPING BAG they sent it to Davids in. Barcode stickers still on it and all(I was like your joking) I open it try it on go to the desk and tell the lady wrap it up .I ask her do you press it now or later, she says its an xtra $15, I said it looks like it came out of a hamper and your seriously gonna give that dress to me like that?? She says" well they wrinkle when they are shipped.". She says $15 for alterations. I said thats not an alteration its a courtesy to a paying customer. So anyways, I took the dress and went on my way. Davids in Orland is dirty, poor customer service, they lie to make a sale and put pressure on you that if you dont buy today it may not be in!!! I recommend Evas in Orland.Davids is low budget and you get treated that way!! Davids Bridal is like the Walmart of Bridal shops!!

I have sat and read some of these stories that these brides have had and I am sorry they had such a hard time, I however had a wonderful experience! First I had 5 BM's and they too had nothing but good communications and helpful people wait on them. We did try several other bridal stores before DB and they did not compare. I purchased a wedding dress that was meant to fit like a glove. I was worried because it took 5 fittings to get this dress right! But let me tell you, "Penny" got it right to the tee! I have never had a dress fit me so well before, now mind you I started with a size 14 dress ( to fit a 38DD) down to a size 3 on the bottom! Penny could have made a second dress with the material that was cut off this dress! Not to mention in the process I lost 20 lbs and 1 1/2" off my chest as she kept adjusting the dress. I know brides get compliments on their dresses the day of the wedding, that is normal, what I got was, wow you have a great figure! That was because Penny made it fit so well and at 38, that was a great compliment! Love how they rang the bell when I found my dress and love how they waited on me hand and foot! I would recommend to my daughter for a great experience!

After purchasing a Bridal gown and 4 BM dresses (approx. $1,000.00) we were appalled to be charged for color swatches of our dresses.

After being told that all dresses would take 6 weeks to be delivered, no problem until the Bridal Gown arrived 2 weeks later. We were very suspicious. Checked it out thoroughly before taking it home.BM dresses arrived at the 6 week mark but the store did not call us--we called them!!!

1BM dress was not the proper size, Davids stated you can exchange for a different size with no problem. PROBLEM the "NEW COLOR" (which Davids Consultant assured us would be around for awhile) chosen for the dress in February, this is now May, has been discontinued. Had to NOW choose a different color for the Wedding Party. Maid of Honor in store with the other Brides Maids and working with the Bride 50miles away!! Again, had to PURCHASE color swatches as the Bride was choosing them on-line.

NOW it is July and the new dress order should be in.Time for a MOB dress. Shopped on-line first as the MOB is in her 80's. Found the dress we wanted and let our fingers do the walking by calling different stores in the area. No, ORLAND PARK was not the first.

OAK LAWN very helpful but did not have the dress. Suggested ORLAND PARK.

OK, have to pick up BM dresses anyway. Phoned them first to ask if the order was in, of course it was, "WE DON'T CALL YOU, YOU HAVE TO CALL US." Then ask them about the specific dress style #, Size and color I was looking for. They stated they did not have the dress.

Called LOMBARD. They had the dress. We made an appointment for the next day and went there to purchase the dress. VERY NICE STORE.

Same day went to ORLAND PARK store to pick up BM dresses. GUESS WHAT?! Right there on the rack was the MOB dress in every size from 10-16 and several different colors.
If that is not a slap in the face I don't know what is.

I will NEVER step foot in David's Bridal in ORLAND PARK AGAIN!!!

My suggestion use Oak Lawn or Lombard.

To say my experience so far has been 'unsatisfactory'- is the understatement of the decade.

To make it as brief as possible, my registry was deleted.
My mother, sister, aunt & cousin went in today to try on, and purchase the bridesmaid dresses I had picked out. My aunt & cousin drove from Wisconsin so it wasn't exactly a convenient trip to begin with. In any case, they were at the front desk when you walk in, being told repeatedly how *I* as the bride, had to have done something wrong for them to have deleted my registry. In any case, they had none of my information, even after I had already given it to them. So my mom, obviously a bit annoyed by this, turned around to call me while I was at work to get the style # of the dress so that they could still try on and buy the dresses. As she turned around, the lady at the desk turns to another employee and says "Ohhh, she's going to be difficult." about my mother. In front of my 15 year old sister.

My sister, shy as she is, didn't think to mention this to my mother until long after they had re-registered, tried on the dresses, purchased them, and left.

I'm absolutely furious. My bridal party is dropping over a thousand dollars at this place, and they have the NERVE to mouth off about my mother IN FRONT OF MY SISTER. If we're spending as much money as we are, I'd expect them to at least PRETEND to be happy to help us.

I called the manager immediatly after finding this out. Her name was Pat, and she was very polite, very apologetic, said she'd talk to each girl individually about what had happened to ensure it will never happen again. Which, of course, I appreciate, but it doesnt take the sting off how unproffessional her employee is, and how poorly she treated my family today.

Had I known all of this BEFORE we purchased our dresses, we would have taken our business elsewhere IMMEDIATLY. I love the dresses I picked for my girls, I love Davids selection, and I couldnt be happier with the dress itself. HOWEVER, *NO* dress is worth the disrespect my mother had to endure today. I am absolutely disgusted.

So what it comes down to is this: Beautiful Dresses. Reasonably priced, even! But if you're looking to feel like you're burdening employees just by being in the store, if you're willing to hand over hundreds of dollars just to be told that you're 'difficult', if you're willing to register more than once, because the disorganization is overwhelming- If you want your family to witness employees bad mouthing your mother- and if you literally want to SHAKE because you're so upset about how poorly things were treated, then this is the place for you. I'm an easy going person. Very laid back. I too work in customer service, but the very second that I would treat a customer like an annoyance instead of a pleasure, is the second management would rip me off the floor, and tell me to find a new job.

The rest of my bridal party will be purchasing their dresses throughout the rest of the week. I'd be more than happy to take this review down if the rest of our experience with Davids is a happy one. But as of now, I've NEVER seen such terrible customer service in my life. I truley hope things run smoothly from here on out. Because up until this point, planning my wedding has been surprisingly easy and fun. I will say, however, that if the rest of my girls are treated with anything that could be considered tone or attitude, like my mother, sister, cousin and aunt were treated with today, I will be contacting corporate. And then the Better Business Bureau.

You'd have to be insane to buy your dress from here.

I was nervous shopping for my dress because I have heard so many horror stories about alot of bridal shops. I decided to start at David's Bridal and I was so happy I did! Sharon, my customer service associate, was so sweet, patience, and unobtrusive. I was really worried about those sales girls that gush all over you just to get you to buy something, but she knew exactly when to step back and allow me to converse privately with my mom and BM. She listened to what I wanted and made excellent suggestions. And, the patience! I tried on THE ONE 3 times! I was so happy with it and did not want to take it off. It was actually the first dress Sharon brought me! Overall, my experience was so wonderful! And, as long as my dress comes in without a hitch, I would reccommend that eveyone make David's bridal as a stop on their list!
Too bad they do not carry my BM dresses. I went down the street to another well know bridal shop and was disgusted with their service.

Davids Bridal in Orland Park, Illinois has the worst customer service I have EVER experienced in my entire life. They made so many mistakes, I don't know where to start. From ordering the wrong sashes TWICE, to ordering the completely wrong veil. My bridesmaid dresses were not complete without a black satin sash that we paid extra for and Davids Bridal messed the order up so much that my girls are not going to have them in time for our wedding. And let me tell you these dresses do not look good without the sash that we paid for. The service in this store and the Regional Office was awful. My wedding is 3 days away and I am going to be without the items that I ordered because of the lousy efforts that were made ... or should I say NOT made. If you are getting married and looking to use Davids Bridal, think twice. You don't want your dream day be ruined.

David's Bridal has inexpensive wedding gowns for the budget wedding. Good looking dresses in all styles and sizes can be found (they have hundreds if not thousands of them). Staff seems to be very accommodating to your needs. They also have a periodic $99 sale on dresses, but get there early.

PROS: Inexpensive
CONS: none that I know of
