I brought the mower in to Small Engine Specialties in Chillicothe IL requesting a very minor issue be fixed under the current warranty
Requested a call back when I dropped off the mower in order to explain the problem I wanted addressed
After a week with no contact I called Small Engine Specialties in Chillicothe IL

I was informed me they would not get to my mower for 'atleast 10 more business days' and my request to speak to the mechanic was denied. She said they would call me when they 'got to it'
I confirmed with her that this was a warranty job and I wanted warranty work done only
Three weeks passed with no contact from Small Engine Specialties
I finally called them. I was told the mower was complete. The warranty had been denied and I was responsible for all charges. $99 which was all labor-no parts were replaced.
The only explanation was that it was 'old gas problem' I had NEVER ran old gas in the (practically new!) mower, and it started and ran PERFECT when I dropped it off other than this very minor issue I wanted fixed under the warranty.
I wanted to pick up the mower without paying for these unauthorized charges but after two weeks of being ignored, laughed at, and basically told if I had 'acted nicer' he would not have ripped me off, ALL THIS COMING FROM THE OWNER!

I was very reasonable in my requests. I even offered to pay the $35 diagnosis fee to pick up the mower.

The owner Terry, refused and suggested I call the warranty department to get the $65. I actually did. The warranty department informed me Small Engine Specialties
never opened a claim for my mower. Terry lied to me about that. The owner had specifically said the warranty had been sent in and was denied. The warranty company was never even called about my mower.

After several reasonable requests for my $65 refund I gave up and am leaving this review.

end note: My mower still has the original problem My warranty department still insists I take the mower to this company. I will have to pay out of pocket to get this fixed because there is NO WAY I will ever give this company possession of my mower again.
