We have ordered from Ranalli's on Clark and Chicken Vesuvio dish was swimming in a funky souce that looked terrible. None of my guest wanted to eat that dish. Also, who ever ate the salad we ordered from Ranalli's complained of a stomach ache...I would not recommend this place to anyone.

Pros: Good Pizza

Cons: Really Bad Salads and Chicken Vesuvio

I've visited Rinalli's on my last visit to Chicago last month. The Pizza was so-so for what I've had at some of the other pizza joints in the area. Service was fast and staff was friendly.

I dined in at Ranallis and had a blast. The wait staff was friendly, fun, and respectful. The full bar didn't hurt either!! Can't wait to go back!

I chose to eat here, as the menu was varied, it was a good location, and has free parking and a wide selection of draft beer. The service was good, the food mediocre. The bbq chicken was overcooked, the chicken vesuvio was shocking in appearance. It was 2 grilled chicken breasts and potatoes covered in a tasteless, beige, gelatinous gravy. The meal tasted as bad as it looked. The sauteed spinach looked and tasted like it came from a can. The vegetarian lasagna looked great, but it was also disappointing. It had overcooked veggies and hardly any pasta. The vesuvio was quickly and politely replaced with a turkey burger that also missed the mark. Be warned the wine is served in "thimbles".

What can I say about Ranallis? They have an extensive menu that'll satisfy whatever mood you are in. They have some kind of deal every night on food and drink -- be it $2.00 Miller Lite, MGD & Miller Hi Life on Mondays, $3.00 Well Drinks and $2 off any yard of beer ($1.00 off any 1/2 yard) on Tuesdays, $6.00 JUMBO Margaritas on Thursdays... you get the point. Food is decent, and you get big portions for what you are paying. A major plus is they deliver till 4AM during the week and 5AM on weekends, in case you have a late night/early morning craving for some good ole pizza. A minus to this is that delivery times could take an hour or longer and they never show up before their quoted time. Don't get me wrong... they aren't late, they just stay true to their word. (they also deliver beer!)

you have to admit, this is a true stoners dream. they are open till like five am on weekends. the thin crust is delightful, but the thick crust is better than (well almost) better than well you know... the buffalo wings aren't anything great but the pizzas themselves were filling and worth the hour delivery wait.
peace

I went to this sports bar (?) last monday night (mar 6). I just moved to the area and wanted to have a few beers. Well the beers were overpriced, and the food was too. I had a slice of pizza and it was tasteless and cold. If you're looking for the typical hot waitresses and bartenders that you find at other sports bars, don't look here. All in all, I left relatively happy, because the bartender was busy chatting and she forgot to charge me for a couple drinks.

If I didn't live right next to Ranalli's on Lincoln and I wasn't constantly enticed by its outdoor seating, I probably wouldn't go back. Don't get me wrong--I've had some perfectly good experiences there. It's just inconsistent. Sometimes the pizza is great, sometimes I've choked down a piece and thrown the rest in the garbage. It seems that they try to do too much with their menu. I say make 10 things and make them great. They say make 50 things and make them however you feel like making them that day. The patio is great, though! If you're looking to have a beer and sit outside, I would highly recommend Ranalli's. If you're looking to eat, well, do so at your own risk. Since they seem to predominantly portray themselves as a pizza/Italian restaurant, I would stick to that type of food. I mean, when you order a burrito at a pizza joint, it shouldn't be too surprising when it's awful, right?

One look at the large, tree-filled garden patio at this Lincoln Park restaurant and you?ll wish Chicago?s weather allowed more months of outdoor dining. The 150-seat area is a big draw for kid-toting families, as well as neighborhood types…
