Good bar food, including a nice salad selection. The reuben is awesome, and you can get sandwiches with tater tots, which is always a plus. Not fantastic drink specials, but fun atmosphere - the have a game night on Tuesdays. Waitstaff was friendly.

Great Staff!! Good Bar Food... and they now have Peroni!!! I actually have lived in the neighborhood for 3 years and dig their 1/2 lb burgers (Midway Burger) and their chopped salads are huge.

If you want a bar that you can watch a game with no hassle and a good bar scene, this is your place.

Pros: Great Neighborhood Bar

Don't go there. Should be on the next "Kitchen Nightmares". Encountered a really rude staff person, and found an old piece of food in the back room, with insects all over it.

Pros: Nothing

Cons: Too much stuff for a one-liner

First time in a long time going to Roscoe Village but I'm glad I met my friend at the Riverview for the Cubs game. The Cubs lost (go figure!) but the bartenders and waitresses there kept us laughing. It's not the first place on my list of places to go but definitely recommend it if you're looking to dodge the "viagra triangle" scene and do something laid-back for a change.

Riverview Tavern is a great neighborhood bar in Roscoe Village. I was surprised by the variety of their menu and the above-average quality of basic bar food. They offer nice twists on burgers and sandwiches and also have high-quality quesadillas that use top quality cheeses and other ingredients. They have upgraded their side salad, and it includes mixed field greens. Definitely not what you'd expect! The bar gets busy on weekends, but during a weekday evening, it's somewhat quiet and a good place to stop in for a quick meal. They have a great selection of beer. It's fun to go in to see the nostalgia from the Riverview amusement park that used to be located in Roscoe Village. Riverview is clean and the service is friendly. It's great to sit outside in the summer and enjoy some good food.

Average bar food at best. Atmosphere is more of a bar. people smoking fill the place. The non smoking room is in the back more like a storage room. Staff is marginal at best. Go down the street to another roscoe restaurant.

We went to Riverview b/c had a coupon, but the food was so reasonably priced, we didn't even use the coupon! We have gone back 4 times since! The menu is extensive and everything that we have tried has been great. We especially like the pizza, salads, and french fries. The service is also very friendly and prompt.

I had a grilled cheese sandwich and liked it a lot because they slipped a slice of fresh tomato in there. The blackened chicken sandwich was very spicy. If you don't like very hot items, keep looking (the menu has lots of options). Spices don't bother me and I enjoyed the taste I had. The beer and wine selection is fairly complete and average-priced. I also thought the staff was alert and helpful. All that said, the word "Billiards" is on the sign outside. I was ready to get my pool on, only to find one pool table in the joint. It was coin operated and the competition to hold the table gets tougher as the night rolls on. I didn't get to warm up and only played one short game. The crowd wasn't very diverse either. But for food, this place is pretty good.

The Scene
Another classy bar from Steve Soble's growing empire (Southport Lanes, Lucky Strike, Corner Pocket), the Riverview is sunny and comfortable, with hardwood floors, roomy booths, and a subdued decor that pays homage to…
