Jacob Henry Mansion

The Jacob Henry Mansion was a great, affordable place to celebrate our wedding. We had our ceremony in the Church on site and the reception in the Victorian Ballroom. The Ballroom looked beautiful, the staff was friendly and helpful, and changes were happily accommodated. They gave us the wedding of our dreams - it was all we hoped for and more!

The service on the day of the wedding was great! It was so nice to be able to just enjoy our day without worrying about anything. The Mansion's staff treated our day like it was the most important day in our lives. Service and advice prior to and during the wedding were excellent!

I would not recommend using the JHM for wedding services. After asking them about fees, we received additional charges that were never explained to us. They could not get our contract correct and they never returned phone calls/e-mails. The customer service is very poor. FOr a wedding day when you have enough to worry about, the last thing you need to stress about is the service provided by staff with a lack of competence.

The Jacob Henry Mansion has such a unique retro charm, we knew we had to have our wedding reception there. I couldn't be happier with how it turned out. Be patient with customer service, there were a few times when I would have liked a more prompt response-- however, our event was flawless. This family knows exactly what they are doing. We had so much fun as did our guests. I wouldn't change a thing!
To respond to the reviewer who stated that guests sitting in different rooms is a downside-- I actually felt that it was a distinct advantage in that it helped facilitate guests mingling and moving about. I've been to weddings in banquet halls where all I did was sit at the table I was assigned to-- how boring!! I loved the flow of our event and the "house party" feel!

I held my wedding and reception at the Jacob Henry Mansion Estate and I could not have been happier with the results. My husband and I chose to have an ourdoor ceremony but the weather was not with us. The wedding planners were wonderful in working with us to move the ceremony into the beautiful Old Central Church. The staff was kind enough to stand in the pouring rain to direct our guests to the correct location, and kept a smile on throughout the evening. They were kind and courteous and met our every need. This was truly a five star event!

Would not recommend them for a wedding. Very poor customer service, failure to follow through on what they say they will do. Very unfortunate for a beautiful place.

This is a very different and charming place to hold a wedding reception or other such banquet. It is a historic landmark with a Victorian style and intimate, cozy atmosphere. The only downside to having a wedding here is that guests end up being in separate rooms as opposed to in one great room. They also host tours of the mansion.
