Marc C. leaves US confused - he's actually been in the store a number of times - and every time it's a different story - one time he's just a "collector getting back into it", so can we spend 2-hours guiding him through every item in the store - next-time, he's a "big-time eBay dealer needing to restock his 'store' cheap" - the next-time he's a hyper-active squirrel running around scrolling through his iPod like he's looking for a girl...and he's always willing to tell any customers here that he can get anything we've got cheaper at "XYZ" - he's an idiot, so he gets treated that way. He get's shown the same respect he shows us!

My experience at the shop has left me confused and dissapointed. I have been to the store two times. The first time I had an incredible experience. The owner was very personalable talking to me and a few of my friends for and extended amount of time. I left the store spending $70. I returned back to the store hopeing to score another copy of new mutants 98 and some advice on my comic collection. When I arrived the owner gave a normal 'have any questions?' I showed him the comics I brought which he looked at quickly and gave back to me. This time he couldnt get away from me quick enough, even tripping over something in his way to the back of the store. I asked if he had another copy of new mutants 98 and he replied 'no' with nothing extra to say. I browsed the shop a little more and found a copy of new mutants 98 on the wall. Without asking to see it, I went back to my car to put the comics back i brought and to call my friend to tell him he didn't have any more copies. (he wanted a copy as well) I went back in to ask if the comic was for sale. I trust my eye when I say this. The comic was not on the shelf anymore and I am left to think he pulled it while I was out. I loitered around the store for a few minutes hoping to strike a conversation and left. I understand he could have been busy, and the comic could have not have been there. But is my money not good enough? Was it something I said? Why the silent treatment... I went there with the intention to spend money and have a good conversation. I left confused and disappointed.

The last reviewer - "Matthew D.", hmmm, there used to be a Matthew D(avis) that owned a comic shop down the street from this place - maybe that's what his problem REALLY was. Anyway, I like this place, Knowledgeable, opinionated (very opinionated) staff. Well organized. Well stocked. They also have a website that I use to reference what I'm looking for before I even go down there. And they've been in the area a long, long time - they have what I'm looking for - including supplies.

Business Response:

Thanks for your information Thanks for your business and your information on that previous reviewer. Just don't expect a raging debate on Chicago sports every time you walk in...most of the time, just not everytime.

Went in and found the selection seriously lacking in Comics. Guy behind the Counter seemed uninterested. Normally I can spend hundreds of dollars when I go in, but could barely find anything worth me getting. It is time to realize it is not 1993 with your comic selection. I would actually prefer going to a Chain Comic Store, that is how uninviting it was. Schaumburg and Glendale Heights stores have better service, better selection, and more enjoyable. Not worth the time.

Business Response:

That's what a competitor thought of us. It was pointed out to me by a new customer that this reviewer was a competitor - who burned us while posting 10 rave reviews for his own store on the same day. I'm more than happy to let the public make an informed decision about who they want to support.

More coins/cards than comic books, but a pretty big store nonetheless. Had 30+ shortboxes of back issues that had been completely cherry-picked, and was now mostly filled with 80s/90s drek (priced at full guide, of course).

Modern books seemed limited to a restricted selection of the big Marvel/DC titles which I found a bit strange - no variants in sight. A decent amount of TPB's, supplies, and a smattering of wall books (but most were vastly overpriced for their condition). The owner was relatively unfriendly, and seemed annoyed when I inquired into specific books.

Business Response:

Seriously Understates What We Have This "reviewer" seriously "understates" what we have. There's over 125 boxes of back-issues (organized) and another 5,000+ better Silver Age books available on request. I'm sure this "reviewer" has a "favorite store" somewhere where stacks of 1:100 variants are available at cover as are mint 12-centers (LOL). We're always happy to let the "real public" decide for themselves whether or not we have something to offer.
