Ogara & Wilson Limited is a superb place for anyone looking for old and rare books and publications. This is the place in the southside of Chicago to go to if you want antiquarian books. Good selection of old books, and decent prices.

Not far from Powell's is O'Gara and Wilson, specializing in used and antiquarian books. They always have a fantastically interesting front display. You're likely to find higher prices here than elsewhere, but also far more unusual and valuable books. They do carry normal used books as well, but the essence of the store is the old and rare.

The second you walk in this store, you get hit by the smell of books. If you don't know what I mean by "the smell of books", then you have no interest in a used bookstore, so don't bother going. Almost everything in the store has a battered cover and a dusty air about it, which is a must for any store of its type. The prices are a bit steep, so much so that the store is, for me at least, a special treat when I have cash to throw around. But it's generally pretty fair, and it's not hard to find a gem on the shelves.
