Things changed for Milo's

Ever since Milo's restaurant moved over to way out there in Philo Road, they lost the charming comfy feeling they had back at the Lincoln Square--and more.
We used to love Milo's before: they served abundant delicious plates, and had kind waiters who would get things when you asked them to.
After they moved, they dumped the good waiters and served less food in their plates for the same old price!
The last time my partner and I went out for dinner, I was ordering a salad and the waitress left *before I was done talking*. WOW. We are NEVER coming back there. In addition, the soup was lukewarm because they like to leave it sitting there before bringing it to the table, and took forever to bring us the salad the way we originally requested it. The place spells incompetence. Despite the upscale decor, the food is overpriced and the service is abysmal--best to avoid.

Try the lasagna

My friend took me to this restaurant for my birthday lunch and I fell in love with it. We had great service and the muffins and the lasagna were superb! I went back with my family and they all loved it too...even the 5 and 8 year old.

Milo's Restaurant - comfort food
by Anonymous
We recently moved to the area and have tried several restaurants while our kitchen was being renovated. Out of all these restaurants, Milo's had the most delicious comfort food. Grandma, parents, and teenage sons left nothing remaining on the plate, and we all walked away completely satisfied.

Cold shoulders, mediocre food
by Anonymous
The food is rather blah. God help you if you say "just water" and order modest dishes. You'll be treated like second-class citizens. The guy doing the seating needs to learn something about hospitality. I will never go back.

Why Bother with that Chain, When You've Got Milo's Nearby

You usually wouldn't expect to find great food in a dying shopping mall, but Milo's restaurant gives lie to that expectation. The little space on the east side of Urbana's Lincoln Square is home to fine dining that - for some unknown reason - is a big secret to most in town.
Open only in the evenings, Milo's offers the closest Champaign-Urbana has to offer to "nouvelle" cuisine - a little fusion, a little experimentation, a lot of taste. Good taste,. with dishes like almond-encrusted tilapia and baked pork chops with plum sauce on a bed of risotto.
Though a bit pricey by local standards - dinner for two with appetizers, dessert, and a bottle of wine will run around $100 - Milo's also has early-bird specials for low-budget gourmands. The restaurant features a full bar with a fair-to-good wine cellar.
Service is attentive and friendly. The atmosphere is somewhat sterile, sort of a 1960s family-room decor. It's a family-run business, so fully expect to see the kids working as busboys or doing their homework on a back table.
Skip Biaggis for your next special dinner, and give Milo's a try.
PROS: food, service
CONS: shopping mall atmosphere, limited menu
