This place is bad all around. When you walk in the place reminds you of type of place Dan and Roseanne Connor would go to for their wedding anniversary in Lanford, IL in an episode of Roseanne. Cheesy. Anyone that gives this multiple stars must of never had any other Italian food in their lives cause best way to explain this place is hillbilly Italian food.

Awful, horrible, cant use enough negative words. The ingredients we poor quality, all the food was greasy and over seasoned with salt, was almost downright inedible, and prices were ridiculous for how bad it tasted could of gone to failsafe Maggiano??s for same price and been satisfied. Only reason it is getting one star is because bathroom actually had toilet paper for the runs the food gave me after eating it.

Mangia Mangia is located in Salem Square mall in Countryside and the food is very good. The restaurant creates a nice ambiance, and even has Italian music playing outside on the sidewalk. Prices are a bit high compared to some others, but are certainly not the highest in town.

The grilled Calamari makes Rosebud and Maggianno's look like a dive, there is also an asparagus "Roma" appetizer of unbelievable taste. The problem here is the pasta dishes are way too pricey although they are extremely abundant. My advice when you go is get a couple of appetizers a minestrone soup (POSSIBLY THE BEST ON THE CONTINENT) and split an entree.

Pros: Appetizers to die for

Cons: Pricey

my parents and i decided to try this place after we drove past it one night. i love italian cusine and was excited to find some place new. the first thing that surprised me about mangia mangia was the prices. for a $20 entree i thought i could have gone to beautiful italian restaurant with white linen table clothes and candles on the table (Maggianos) and had a MUCH better experience. we went on a thursday night around 7:00 and the service was terrible. there was one waitress for the whole restaurant, which was probably half full. then when it was time to pay the bill, the manager who was at the register, gave my father more than a hard time about paying our bill with a check card because she didn't want to pay a fee. when my dad offered to use a regular credit card (because his bank charges him $3 to use a his check card as a debit card), she had an attitude and said "i'll take the loss THIS time". needless to say, i will not be returning to mangia mangia.

I was amazed at the selections of fish/seafood on their menu...not just the usual shrimp and salmon, but grouper, tilapia, mussels, etc. and a large variety of choices in each category!

I had the blackened salmon with asparagus and it was wonderful! Very fresh. The wait staff was very attentive to service and it has a nice cozy atmosphere.

Great Italian cuisine!

This restaurant has fresh and tasty meals. Dine in or carry out, the staff is knowledgable and friendly. The best meatballs and they are not stingy with garlic! The portions are generous and they pack them nicely for carry out. The linguini is the best and we always take a few extra meatballs and sausages home for sandwiches later.
