If you are looking for Thai food that's cheap but satisfactory in taste/flavor than you would enjoy Noodles etc... I really didn't like there Pad Se Ew but the fried rice was ok. Penny's Noodles is better in my opinion.

If you're ever in the Hyde Park area, or if you're a student at the University of Chicago, check out Noodles Etc. It's a great little noodle spot with inexpensive prices, great service, and a good atmosphere. They offer a traditional Thai/Chinese/Pan-Asian menu, with appetizers, soups, and noodle and rice dishes. Their dishes stand out because of all the fresh ingredients and large portions. This is a popular campus restaurant and can get busy during the lunch hour, but their take out is also very good.

This place is really interesting because they don't focus on one style of Oriental cooking but feature all kinds of dishes from the Orient. There are Thai, Chinese, Vietnamese, Korean and even Japanese noodle and rice dishes. They were not
