Ratings_icons Extreamly nice people

Me and my husband bought a puppy from Petland couple a months ago, so they sent us to Barrington. Very nice and friendly people. Both vets, dr. Dan and dr. Scott are very aproachable and had answered tons of questions. They've been very gentle to my dog and I'm impressed by the staff care. I like the next day calls and updates on my dog exams, the reminders for next time visit. I just called for copy of the vaccinations for the puppy class ,which I was to go pick it up myself, but they were so nice and offer to fax the records to the trainer. We have an older dog ,who goes to different pet hospital ,and I'm concidering moving him onto Barrington as well.

Just so all the old clients know, all of the previous staff were FIRED when the new vets took over!! Spoke with one old client over Christmas that told me that they were told that we all had decided to quit! THAT COULDN"T BE MORE WRONG!! WE WERE ALL FIRED IN A TERRIBLE ECONOMY!!
What a kick in the face!!!

Ratings_icons Missing old management =)

My life partner and I were long-term clients of Doc (Dr. Koszewski) and were very sad to hear that he was retiring. We have been bringing our german shepherd there for years and even though our pet hated vet visits Doc knew exactly how to handle him when he was nervous. Doc never showed any fear and was able to examine and treat him with no incidents with the help of his amazing staff. Even when my dog had to be hospitalized I was very confident in Doc, Kathy, and the other staff members to take care of our baby. Kathy called us with updates and comforted us when necessary, I felt like a member of this amazing places family. This summer I had my first experience with the new doctors and staff. The woman who greeted me was an older woman who mispronounced my dogs name and was in general very rude. I was afraid that the rest of the staff was going to be the same way, but was pleasantly surprised when Dr. Scott and a tech, who I recognized as Lou from my past visits, came into the room. They worked so well together and my dog responded very well to their exam. On my next visit I was informed that Lou was no longer there and was very disappointed that the staff seemed fearful and immediately took my dog from the room without even asking me, which just added to his anxiety. I really miss Dr. Koszewski and his staff.

Ratings_icons New management makes this a "our" place!

The vets at this office are new since the retirement of the former one(s) in the Spring of this year, and we followed one of them from his old clinic because we were so impressed with him. We met Dr. Jarrett at his previous clinic when we were having an end-of-life situation with one of our cats, and even in that stressful, emotional time, we were so happy with his knowledge, compassion and desire to make sure we understood the medical situation, the options, etc., that we weren't about to lose him just because he joined another practice that was farther away.

My two Bassets Penny & Libby love everyone from the docs to the techs to the receptionists!! Dr's Dan & Scott are the best...it's always a pleasure to visit & hopefully it will only be for routine things but I have no hesitance in taking them there if something serious were to happen.

Ratings_icons Under new ownership - new vet docs awesome so far

ML V.

I took my puppy in for his third set of shots to be surprised by a new staff awaiting us. Dr. Andrew (the previous doc) and his staff failed to inform us that he was retiring even though we were just there three weeks prior. Anyhow, the new doc, Dr. Scott Jarrett, that saw my puppy was super friendly and seemed very interested in veterinary medicine. My husband & I asked tons of questions because he was very approachable and knowledgable. Under new ownership, this place now has two doctors and extended office hours. The previous staff before was great but Dr. Andrew was really cocky and didn't really answer any of answers to our satisfaction. My husband & I decided on this place because of its convenient location to our home. Dr. Scott seems to be the complete opposite and hopefully he'll remain that way. They also have a very competitively priced puppy vaccination package and are willing to match any online offers for pet meds like Heartgard Plus, etc. The only reason I'm rating this place 4 stars instead of 5 is because we went in while they were in the middle of remodeling. My pup and I return in two weeks and at that time hopefully everything will be where it should and I'll come back to rate them based on their level of cleanliness. If they meet my expectations for a place that I'd take my pup back to, I'll give them the extra star. :)

Ratings_icons Great place with new ownership

Marion V.

I have taken my pets to this clinic by a recommendation of a friend who mentioned it is under new ownership. All I can say is: it was a great and wonderful experience. The doctors (Dr. Dan and Dr. Scott) are wonderful. The staff was kind and compassionate. The doctors are very knowlegeable and the prices were very reasonable.

A few days ago we took our 14 year old dog to Dr. Koszewski. We were asked to weigh him, which we/I did. The doctor came into the room and had some difficulty drawing blood. The dog was well cradled in my arms and not being prone to biting, I was confident I'd be able to control him as always should he feel the need to respond to the prick of a wayward needle. For whatever reason, the doctor placed a dirty muzzle on my dog. First time this had ever been done. After finally getting the blood he needed, the doctor walked out of the room. As he walked out, "I" growled, as though my dog was showing disdain for his treatment of (the dog). Dr. Koszewski replied "that is not funny joke". I replied it was. I said "you placed a dirty muzzle on my dog and I growled. That is funny". Dr. Koszewski replied he thought it not so funny. There was no further inspection of my precious dog. No check of the abdomen. No looking at his ears or any comment of his cloudy eyes. Nothing. Our intent was to renew our script for his special food Dr. Koszewski said last year was needed due to this slightly elevated kidney enzymes and for a rabies shot. No checking his teeth. Nothing. Still, he was given no physical exam and quite frankly, I am now endeavoring to file a complaint against this so called doctor. His treatment, or lack thereof, is absolutley not acceptable. He appears to be afraid of dogs, even small to medium sized dogs who otherwise have never shown any pre-disposition toward aggression. I'll go back to the Gilberts (IL) vet before I ever take my precious pet to Dr. Koszewski again.
