Food ok, but not Spanish. I'm Spanish (born in Spain, lived in Spain until... last year).

You can like this place, but don't say it's Spanish food, because it's not.

Don't try the "paella" please...

Decent service... Decent food. But, surcharged us for ordering drinks "easy ice"... Of course, didn't know this sneaky policy until the bill came...

La Tasca tapas restaurant stands tall from the rest!!!! They have the tastiest tapas, best traditional and spectacular specials, power sangrias, funnest atmosphere, friendliest staff, and are consistent for the past 14 years. try dates and bacon, lamb chops, patatas bravas, sea scallops, beef tenderloin kabobs, and the best most very best "FLAN" in all of Spain, U.S. etc. The bands are a blast for the burbs and with no cover charge. We eat well and drink to a buzz, dance the night away at times for about $25 per person...try that in the city! Gas, tolls, and parking cost more than that in Chicago. Fun with one and my favorite is when we get a large group (get to try a bunch of the delicious tapas) Living in Spain for about three years I can honestly say that La tasca is even better that most tourity tapas restaurants even in Spain. Try it for your self and see, feel, taste. The restaurant is always CLEAN and the open kitchen shows no surprises in prepping food....what a show to watch. Bravo La Tasca tapas of Arlington Heights...OUTSTANDING P.S. Thanks for offering the free valet in today's economy.

La Tasca is a wonderful restaurant, best in Arlington Heights! I've been going to La Tasca for over ten years and it is our favorite tapas restaurant in Chicago. My friends and I love to come here on the weekends. There is a great atmosphere and plenty of delicious food! Some of my favorites include: the bacon wrapped dates, herbed goat cheese in tomato-basil sauce, sea scallops, and the flan is to die for. Homemade Sangrias topped with fresh fruit make for a sweet summer drink. I like to go with a large group because you are able to sample an array of many different foods! Bands are also a lot of fun. I definitely recommend a visit to La Tasca if you haven't already yet!!!

La Tasca is a great place to go with a group of friends. With the tapas menu, you have the chance to try multiple dishes, and they have good food. Their sangria is excellent!

This is a great place to go for a drink and some tapas while sitting in the picturesque view of the Inner Harbor. The sangria selection is good, but many selections are almost too sweet and the pitchers are mostly filled with ice. The tapas selection is good and the paellas are tasty. I do have to admit that the paellas are somewhat americanized and not true to their Catalan origins. Compared to more authentic paellas there are no crispy burnt pieces of rice, one of my favorite features of a good paella. Overall the restaurant is a good time and an excellent introduction to tapas restaurants.

La Tasca has been the best Spanish/mediteran restaurant the burbs has had to offer in in the last 12 years. The food, people, drinks, atmospher, will surpass most Tapas restaurants in Chicago and many in Spain. We have enjoyed it as a couple and with friends, and many LARGE familly parties. Try the dates in baccon, scallops in cheese and bachemel, the potatas bravas, octopus, fillets for sure. I would put the Carmel flan against ANY in the world!!!!!!!!! The dance and bands are one big party as if everyone is one big family . No trendish fake snubs like the city. Try and you see. Thanks again LA Tasca!

La Tasca has the tastiest tapas in city, burbs, and much of Spain . We have been going to La Tasca for over 11 years and it is always fresh, friendly, fun, and fantastic. We have brought groups up to 88 people and the food, service was just as good as always. I travel a lot for business and have tried many restaurants throughout, but La Tasca has to be in my top three world wide and favorite here at home. Try the pork tenderloin, octopus, sundried bananas with bacon, goat cheese, tuna rolls and Flan! Flan! Flan! Hands down best flan you will ever taste!!! Lots of good drinks?.i.e. homemade Sangria flows and has a fun buzz to it. Check out the quality bands and gigs. Powerhouse shows for free! La Tasca, La Tasca staff, and to Danny and his partner, thank you for all the wonderful times and meals. Bravo!

Now I remember why don't go out on NYE. They DOUBLED the price of the menu, but kept the portions same...$50 pitcher of sangria and $14 for 6 pieces of bacon wrapped dates? Come ON...they overcharged my credit card for $25 holding fee and then gave us two $25 coupons at table while dining...tacky!

Tip: Always pay with cash if you don't want the hassle with them. They need to learn how to split the check with multiple credit cards, otherwise everyone's card will be charge the whole amount.

It was not a positive experience this time, have been quite there a couple of times it's a gamble with the service, but the food keeps bringing my back.

I would not recommend La Tasca to anyone who truly loves tapas and the whole experience surrounding it. I've been there twice; once to try and again to give it another shot because they are so close to where we live and the set-up is decent. Sadly, the results were the same.

The menu was OVERPRICED and misleading. The food was MEDIOCRE at best. The portions were thin relative to other tapas restaurants. The service was HORRENDOUS. The sangria was watered-down with so much ice and fruit that we barely got four small glasses. To top it all off, the waitstaff overcharged my card on BOTH visits for a combined $40 ($20 each time), even after the generous tip I left them. This seems to be a common practice as my friend told me they had dome the same to him. To me, it's not about the money, but the principle. I confronted the management, who seemed less than concerned. No solutions were offered.

Overall, the food tastes less than mediocre, the service was horrible, and the whole operation is shady. Do not go to La Tasca, unless you like being overcharged, scammed, and treated with disregard. If you do go, remember to save your receipt. I would recommend spending your money elsewhere and having a much nicer experience where you won't feel like you're being shammed around every corner.

The best food variety -- this place was amazing. Go with a group of friends -- it's so much fun!! Always packed no matter what time of day or evening you try to get in. Seating goes very fast so don't give up. Best TAPAS you'll ever have. Located in the heart of quaint Arlington Heights, IL.

Tapas in Arlington Heights, I must say, surpass the many tapas we have sampled throughout the U.S. Even some of the tapa bars in Spain. The staff is professional but, give you a feel that you have known them for years. The atmosphere is colorful with walls of painted tile murals, marble bar, lots of wood and authentic pictures and photos. Another huge point for us is the restaurant is very clean. We have been drive out there to meet family and for some of there live shows. Our favorite is the grilled baby octopus, paella, herbed goat cheese, always at least one of the specials and of course ?their? Flan! Flan! Flan! La Tasca just makes for a great gathering place. After eleven years they are defiantly doing it right.

Ive been to every tapas restaurant in Chicago and none compare to LaTasca. Right in the heart of downtown Arlington Hts., LaTasca offers the perfect dining experience. The sangria is outstanding and the extensive wine list has something for everyone's taste. I recommend trying the "Vina Ardanza" which is a vino from Rioja that is simply liquid heaven. Some of my favorite tapas here are the goat cheese, scallops in a vegtable bechemel, trio of grilled sausages, and of course, the beef tenderloin fillet with the cabrales cheese sauce. Also, pay attention to the wonderful collection of daily specials which are always the highlight of my meal. LaTasca also offers a traditional Spanish paella which no other tapas restaurant in Chicago can rival. The service is top notch and everyone is consistantly very helpful, curtious, and energetic. For dessert I recommend trying the flan, which is some of the best flan you will ever have. If custard isnt youre thing then i would go with the sauteed bannana topped with caramel and pistaccios. Overall, LaTasca is head and shouders above the rest in the tapas world. If youve never been yet, crawl out from under that rock and head to downtown Arlington Hts. for the most incredible tapas experience youve ever had!

Hola! Originally from Columbia raised in Florida moved here 2 years ago with my husband. We started looking for great latin restaurants. To our surprise, we found many spanish restaurants here in Chicago, but only a few stood out. Iberico was a lot of fun, but i have to say that La Tasca in Arlington Heights has to be one of the best spanish restaurants in the Chicagoland area. The consistancy and flavors of the food are second to none. The portions seem to be a bit larger than the other tapas restaurants we have been to. Not only that the flavors are more traditional and creative. Thier homemade sangria is much better than anywhere else. The wine list is very extensive. We always order the pulpitos (grilled octopus) which is so fresh and are cooked to perfection- charred flavor yet tender and flavorful. We also enjoy the paella which is by far the best we have had in Chicago. The service is great and the staff is very knowledgable. I highly recommend La Tasca in Arlington Heights.

Nice ambiance except for the front foyer where you wait to be seated next to a smoky bar. The food tasted great as we started with Sea Scallops. This was delicious but pricey at over $15.00 for 1 tapa. Due to the prices we decided to get an entree to fill us up then follow with one more tapa. The entree was so small (I understand tapas should be small, but $40.00 got us the following: One 3oz. lobster tail, 2 regular size shrimp stuffed with about 1/4 teaspoon of lobster, and 3 mussels and a dipping sauce. When our waiter brought it out I thought it was a joke. We ate much more bread in order to fill ourselves up. And ended with a tapa of Patatas Bravas which respectful tapas restaurant has. Overall it's nice, but the cost/protion ratio is a slap in the face.

If I could live here, I would! The menu is in constant flux, so what you get today, you may not get next week, or even the next night. And that is a good thing! There is the usual standard offering of Paella on the menu, but it is NOT the standard Paella. My only regret is I can not go into the kitchen and kidnap the chef to take back home, and teach me.

It is fun for kids, because they can order as much as they want, and it will not break the bank. It's good for groups because everyone can get what they want and can try everyone elses. And even better (wink-wink) for couples looking for romantic night out. This is one of the most refreshing breezes to hit the Arlington Heights area in a long time. If you don't visit, heck - it's your loss!

Usually I go to the La Tasca in Park Ridge working in the city but met some friends in Arlington Heights, and the food was just as tasty as the one in Park Ridge. Very cozy, good service, clean, and romantic. Try the goat cheese, baby octopus, bananas/dates, lamb chops, sea scallops, WOW! Great crowd, but the one in Park Ridge is still my favorite restaurant, atmosphere is second to none!

To the point.
Complimentary Valet, Roomy bar with talkative and freindly bartenders. Short wait of 20 minutes on a saturday night. Great waitstaff and of course a great tapas meal with only spending 30 bucks for a couple. I love great food, great price makes my mouth water. Must try! For first timers the waitstaff will walk you through it. Have fun, share, and enjoy the food. You only live once right?
