I was referred to C Salon (Aaron) by a friend and had a great first experience. Aaron really listened to my concerns about my frizzy, breaking hair and had a ton of solutions and ideas to offer. At the time, I had some fraying long bangs that I just didn't know what to do with. Aaron was able to transform them into more of a style that really worked for me. It was great to have him know what to do when I was really at a loss.

Definitely going to go back again.

For an average looking guy, a haircut is by far the most important physical attribute to take care of, especially if you're in the mood to exude. So, the most important thing for an average looker is to find a great stylist. I've found mine in C Salon and Aaron Seekins after looking for several years in upscale, medium scale, and downscale places all over Chicago. Aaron has not only delivered great haircuts to me over the past four years or so, but he has consistently done so. If I had received one great haircut from Aaron and several mediocre haircuts, I would not be writing this review. He does it well, he does it on automatic, and he does it in a salon with good vibes and good people (mostly salt of the Earth types (as Aaron is) so you don't need to be worried about excess pretension (and I say "mostly" because I have not met everyone who works at C Salon). So if you're looking to try your chances somewhere else, you would be well served by giving C Salon and Aaron Seekins a shot.

After more than two years trusting my hair to Aaron Seekins, I suppose its about time I make my feelings public.

I found C Salon 18 months after I moved to Chicago - and after being disappointed at 3 other salons. The first time I saw Aaron, he managed to clean up a pretty terrible haircut I had gotten elsewhere, and did a great job with my highlights.

Since then my hair has gone from short to long (without that awkward transition phase) and from very light to dark brown. Whatever cut or color I am feeling, he listens and gives me his thoughts on whether it will work and suggestions of things I might like better. I've had bad experiences with salons that gave me the same same cut, every time, even when I was looking for a change. C Salon is definitely not that place.

I called C Salon on a Saturday afternoon for a haircut. They immediately fit me in for that day! I received superb attention from the shampoo person, to the amazing hair cut and style by Dineen.

I am leary to trust my hair with anyone however, since I am on crutches, I could not get to my regular salon. I love the haircut Dineen gave me. Dineen is a very experienced and talented stylist. I will be back to see her. This is especially true since it is within walking distance to me in the Loop. I love this salon, it does not have attitude or drama!! Very comfortable, professional atmosphere!

At the suggestion of a friend who has fabulous hair, I went to see Aaron for a cut and color. He did an amazing job. I have received so many compliments on both the color (a woman I work with even referred to it, twice, as "stunning") and the cut (my brother said it was the most he's liked my hair in a long time - he's my brother, what can I say). I was very happy, and I'm pretty picky. If you're doing your research, reading these reviews, trying to decide whether to go, GO. You will not be disappointed.

I followed kelly to C salon. She is outstanding at cutting hair. She was an instructor in minneapolis it shows in her work. Her color is un-touchable. She's fast and protects you hair. The whole salon is adorable. Great products, music and the art and decor are always changing. Ian is so gentle and very sweet. I would send anyone there.

I went to Kelly and told her about a totally new cut I'd like to try and she knew exactly what I wanted! I felt completely comfortable having her cut several inches off my hair and give me a new style. She did a great job and I love the cut. I will continue going here!

From the time I stepped in I got personal attention, offered a cup of tea, introduced to shampoo person and then to stylist Aaron. Aaron is by far the best stylist I have been to since I moved to Chicago 4 years ago. He took his time consulting with me, making recommendations and giving me styling tips. I have very curly hair and he cut and styled it as smooth as glass. I had questions on the new Brazilian straightening process and another stylist named Kelley that specializes in it consulted and answered all my questions. I will definitely be back to see Aaron and Kelley!

I've gone to Aaron at C Salon for several months now. Having only lived in this city for three years I had been struggling to find a salon I was comfortable at with a stylist I liked. The first time I went to Aaron he was incredibly friendly and offered great suggestions for "fixing" my sloppy haircut. I was so impressed the first time I couldn't wait to go back for my next cut. Not to mention that the salon itself is within walking distance from my condo. I've never received so many compliments on my haircut from co-workers, family/friends, to strangers on the street. The salon itself is clean and comfortable, the receptionists are always friendly, pricing is reasonable and as stated before - Aaron is great!!! If you're looking for a great stylist I strongly recommend checking this place out.

Had been getting my hair cut by a friend for years, but location was not convenient and as scheduling became more difficult I decided to look for a salon nearby. I was referred to Aaron and C Salon by a friend and couldn't be happier. Aaron really listens to what you want but also offers suggestions based on what he thinks will really work for you. He has a ton of product knowledge, but isn't pushy. Aaron is great and has made it worth it to start paying for haircuts again!

Aaron is a fantastic colorist. I am a very dark brunette who colors pretty light blond. He found the right color right away and I have been going back religiously every five weeks since. He has great suggestions for subtle changes- lowlights in fall, a little lighter in summer. He gave me a fantastic cut after I lost a lot of hair after my baby was born. Even put in bangs I can live with! Salon itself is comfortable and I have found other staff (receptionist, shampooers) friendly and helpful. As a busy mom, would love them to have a nail tech to get nails done while I wait for my color!!

I'm a former Chicagoan returning to the city after several years and in search of a great stylist. I'm a dedicated Bumble & Bumble person who loves their cutting technique and products. So I found C salon and had my first cut and highlights with Aaron about 3 months ago. He took his time to listen to what I like and don't like and gave me his expert opinion on how to oversome some of my hair frustrations. He did such a thorough job with cutting my hair just how I wanted it - professional but pretty carefreeand low maintance. I waited to write the review since my true test was how well my bob haircut started to grow out. Well even with being several weeks overdue for a cut, I still love my haircut. Aaron did the best job at a layered bob. To top it all off, I found C Salon provided amazing first class service without the snobby attitude you can get with some other high end places. I'm a very happy new client who will surely be returning for many years to come.

Joanne has taken care of my hair for nearly 2 years....she is knowledgeable, professional and extremely meticulous when it comes to doing her job. My hair has never been in such great shape!!! I get compliments on my healthy hair almost daily. I highly recommend her as a texture specialist...I wish I could post a picture of my hair to show everyone how it looks before and after Joanne has performed her magic!!!

Aaron has taken care of my haircuts and before when he did texture treatments did work on my hair. He introduced me to Joanne?he is a first class hair professional, cuts my hair like no other person, I would not let anyone else cut my hair. Every member of my family comes to him for his hair cutting services, even my daughter that lives in Zurich (Switzerland) uses him when she is in town and tells me that no one is as good as him in her home town...we all highly recommend him.

After having just moved to Chicago and experiencing a botched cut and color at a different salon, I was immediately put at ease with Carlo, C Salon's owner. He was my color specialist and did an amazing job fixing my hair, as well as explaining their services. My color was folowed by a cut with Aaron. He provided a cut that is perfect for the rest of the summer, and along with his skills, carries a cheerful attitude. Both provided sound advise on seasonal colors and cuts, and were very interactive without being overly chatty. Overall, this was first rate customer service, in a well-groomed professional establishment. I would absolutely recommend Carlo, Aaron and the C Salon to everyone I know!

I went to Joanne for a haircut. I have worked in salons for years and I have never been comfortable getting a haircut. Joanne talked with me for a good half hour before she even washed my hair. She went through different options for my hair type and the look I was hoping to accomplish. I have been trying to get a certain style for the past 10 years, but could never quite articulate what I was looking for. With Joanne's help and patience- I was able to describe the picture in my head- and she knew exactly what I needed. I felt so relaxed and confident- I wasn't nervous at all. Usually I leave the salon crying- but with Joanne she gave me the best haircut I have ever gotten. I have had so many compliments and it looks great even now a few weeks after the cut. She is the best stylist I have ever had and I will be trusting only her with my hair from now on. She is just the best- I can't say enough wonderful things about her- she was so kind and patient and even when her next client came- she didnt rush or make me feel like she needed to move on to the next person. I had not only the best experience at this salon- but I have the best haircut I have ever gotten. I definitely would- and often do- recommend this salon. I travel out of the country often and for extended amounts of time- but I will make sure to always have a haircut with Joanne when I am in town.

I went in for a regular men's cut to get a clean up and was asked good questions to determine the appropriate suggestions. Better end product than any other salon in the West Loop. Kelley Carney was my stylist. Excellent cusomter service - 0 wait, good conversation, but still maintained focus on the goal of giving a good haircut.

When I saw how great my friend's hair cut looked, I asked who cut it for her, and she told me about Aaron Seekins so I went. Now people are ALWAYS asking me about my cut!! After years of just having a head of hair, I feel like I got a really got a really great cut and style. I am Filipino and have long, thick hair and instead of always having to wear it up and/or back, I love wearing it down and feeling like it's layered enough to have shape and still keep it long!

C Salon is a beautiful space, really gorgeous window design and wonderful staff, especially the shampoo girl who have a great scalp massage!

I have had a difficult time in Chicago finding a top-notch salon that could address my difficult-to-cut hair. I have missed my stylist in London terribly, and thought I could never replace him. Finally, my search in Chicago has ended. At C Salon, I worked with Aaron, and what a relief it was. He listened carefully and made excellent suggestions as to how to address my weak points hair-wise. There was never a sense of rush.In fact, I was almost stunned at the time he spent carefully snipping away. We also had an easy-going conversation, which is a rare pleasure.

Too many salons are big, noisy and impersonal, or small and jammed with stations. The size and spacing is just right here. It's a place that's comfortable for men as well as women. I will be back, most certainly.

I have extremely crazy, frizzy, thick hair. I cut my hair into a bob last fall and was not a big fan. I decided to get extensions so it will be long as I grow it out. Joanne took the time to travel to L.A. to buy the perfect hair to match mine and then spent many, many hours putting it together. I absolutely love it!

I'm very, very particular with my hair...and even though I want something simple, no one ever seems to get it right. I went to C Salon after reading some great reviews and got a cut and color from Aaron. It was absolutely great! I have no complaints. He listened VERY carefully to what I wanted, gave some great suggestions, and executed exactly what we talked about. I got a very natural, but very dark brown (my hair is naturally a light brown), a small trim, and added a little to my long bangs. The blowout was also amazing...no need to re-do it yourself when you get home. I'm hesitant to write such a great review only because I don't want it to be hard to get an appointment...but really, he deserves the business and I'd recommend Aaron at C Salon to anyone.

I was fortunate enough to discover C Salon a couple of years ago, and even more fortunate to discover Aaron. He's a whiz at both cut and color! Very few people have ever realized my highlights weren't natural, and the few who have, raved about them. I always look forward to sitting in his chair!

I've been going to quite a few Michigan Ave salons over the years and found this great west side loop salon that is a better experience all the way around. Kelly Carney does both great color and cuts and is a pleasure to be with. The salon has friendly staff all throughout and they care about their customers like family. They are even hosting a singles event in the salon for their single clients to mingle and meet! Great find and a must try, you'll be back. Great parking and good hours.

Kelly was my stylist and knew exactly what to do with my unruly hair, which is dry, thick, coarse and 90% grey under years of color treatments. Her choice of color, shine and cut came together to make my hair look healthy and smooth, and the long layered cut was just what I asked for in terms of achieving style and shape without going short. As I sat with the color processing on my head, I observed the other cheerful and friendly stylist s working on their clients. I am very particular about my hair. Other stylist will find my hair a challenge because it is long and thick. When Aaron initially cut my hair I knew it was going to be a long term relationship. Aaron is an exceptional stylist and colorist. His professionalism and unique ability to be in tune with what the client is expressing is a rare find. Aaron actually hears what you are saying and gives his recommendation without disregarding your concerns. My hair is now voluminous and has movement with style and balance?also, did I mention that his blowouts rock!

I was a walk in client! My friend lives around the corner and he recomended me C salon and said the owner lives in his complex and he was a really nice person. I reside in Portage Park and I will not go to any other salon after my experience here!! I was feeling brassy-yellow-orange with darker roots. A blonde trying to hard for too many years searching for the right tone of blonde. I was seen right away with no appointment on a Saturday which the place was busy. I was lucky and I was feeling orange and not pretty!! I sat and explained to Misty what I truly was looking for and before I knew it I was not nervous at all. She just REALLY knows what she is doing! I am a licensed nail tehnician and I have worked in the beauty businees for 20 years. I have worked on famous people and I have tried every color artist and products imaginable!!! Yes! Great, I mean the REAL HEAD MASSAGE while get your hair washed. Not kidding, I couldn't even believe what was happening. Everyone was so real and nice. They know how to make you fell like royality. I loved my coffee even that was good. My hair cut was the cherry on top of a wonderful sundae. Misty explained to me that the perfect blonde color for me needs to go with my skin tone!! Otherwise I get washed out. This is the best hair color and cut I have ever gotten in my life. Crazy thinking that I have been in the beauty business and I have had many hands in my hair. One time it took someone 5 hrs in a professional salon to do my color. She had over 20 yrs experiene too. Misty is exerienced beyond just her education. She is truly gifted and I am sooo happy finally to have a MASTER COLORIST!!!

Had a wonderful experience this morning with bubbly and personable Misty Upton. Less than a month ago I paid almost $350 in California and my hair had already turned brassy and unattractive. I started to explain what I didn't like and what I wanted and before the jumble of ideas was out of my mouth it was already clear she knew what I wanted (and needed--even more than I realized). The color she acheived is perfect for me, jewel toned and healthy. If I could fly in for regular appointments I would! Considering I randomly chose this placed based on proximity to Union Station and it was perfect for me couldn't have pleased me more. Try her, she's great!

I have been going to Dineen to get my hair cut for a few years now and she never disappoints. She always consults with me before I get shampooed, listens carefully to what I want (even when I'm not exactly sure what that is...) and she??s never afraid to give me honest advice on the best choice for my hair. I was thrilled when she changed salons and moved to C Salon in the loop. Not only is it within walking distance of my office but it??s also close to Union Station and the various buslines I use to get around town. I would personally recommend C Salon and Dineen if you??re looking for a great cut.

#1 way to spot a great stylist - how do THEY themselves look? One look at Kelley Carney and I'm certain you will want to be her client. Kelley is an adorable redhead with a innate sense of style that is projected into her work.

I've been seeing Kelley for over a year and constantly get compliments on my hair's shine, gloss and vibrant color. Kelley is professional and smart and really knows what is going to flatter your face best. What other reason could you possibly need? And for the cost, she's a TOTAL STEAL. So get off Michigan Avenue and get down to the West Loop.

The entire salon is great: people remember you; there's a great tea, coffee and hot chocolate station; the salon sells trendy jewlery from local artists as well as top of the line products that the stylsts are using at their chairs. Overall it's just a great, great atmosphere! Add Kelley to the mix and it's perfect!

I had been going to Aveda Salon in the South Suburbs and was ready for a trendy change. It's a little nerve-racking switching stylists, but after going to this Salon to buy products on my way home from work one day, I decided to make an appointment and was not disappointed! My stylist was Aaron Seekins and he was awesome! He changed my color from having brassy blond highlights to a warm brown and the haircut was awesome and so modern. He took the time to listen to my concerns and showed me some different ways to work with the new style. Friendly, modern salon and great upbeat atmosphere.
