DJ Gogo spins some of the best dance music I've heard in the city, check it out 2nd Saturday of every month. Especially good if you hate pop remixes and overly crowded dance floors.

Pros: music, not crowded, great people

Cons: bartenders are rather slow and rude

Really tried to like this place, went 3 times. Every time I left pissed. 1st time, disappearing waitress not to mention we were out celebrating my birthday. Second time, had a really G n T (my drink of choice so i really know how they taste) When I approached the bartender, he forcefully snipped that its a full shot in every drink. I offerd to pay more for liquor. He replied that it would be the same drink. Does not even make sense. I asked to speak to the manager, he snipped that he was the manager. As I made a call for someone to come and save me i put my full beer down on the window sill directly next to me. Turned my head for a second and the bar back had already trashed my drink. Third time sucked too. Baditude bouncer, weak drinks, lackluster scene.

A photography-themed bar... sounds like a refreshing diversion, yes? Too bad this place charges through the nose, feels like a darkened steakhouse inside, and wallows in pretension. I went here for a party, and felt underdressed and out-of-place - I can't think of any other watering hole in the neighborhood with this sort of affected stodginess. It's a Ukranian Village bar that behaves like an exlusive nightclub, down to the oft-uninhabited "VIP area." Make up your minds, folks.

PROS: Alcohol, miscellaneous events, some of the art is interesting, I guess
CONS: High prices, presumptuous atmosphere

Darkroom just gets better and better. They have recently added live bands to their already awesome DJ nights. The crowd is hip and actually friendly. The staff is more than accomadating and remember your name and what you drink even if you only go there on a blue moon.

Pros: Great Staff, Great Music, Great Events

In Short
This red-lit and roomy Ukrainian Village bar features large prints by local artists on the walls in keeping with a photographic motif. Well-proportioned vinyl booths ring the spacious dance floor; DJs in a booth aboveā€¦
