People who write these bad reviews are morons. Any car dealership you go to advertises the absolutley lowest price possible on the car because its POSSIBLE. I went there and no i did not qualify for all the rebates however I still got a better proce than other dealerships. The staff was very kind and even bought me a pop and a snickers. If you are snobby to salesmen they will not like you. The salesman does not make the price up. If they did then there would be no sales anywhere. And as for the people who posted a review before me who complain about them taking too much time, just stop it. theres people who buy before you who take time too. your not buying a candy bar from walgreens your spending THOUSANDS of dollars. Banks are involved. A lot is happening. Stop crying, why would you bring a new born to a car lot? let alone a 4 year old. Worst place to purchase a new automobile. Was told a price online only to have to negotiate a new price. It was a couple hundred dollars more. I decided to buy it because I was late and was there for 3 hours after I told them 15 minutes after I got there that I would buy the car. Then after we left they said they put gas in the car only to have the low gas light come on after we got on a TOLL ROAD without a gas station that was available unless we paid for a toll to get off and back on. NEVER PURCHASE A NEW CAR HERE. THEY WILL BAIT YOU IN WITH A LOW PRICE ONLY TO COME BACK AND GIVE YOU A HIGHER PRICE. STAY AWAY. Had to purchase because my car was to costly to fix with a maintenance issue.

Unless you want to be fooled, bullied around from sales person to sales manager, only to find out that the price they advertise on the internet is completely phony, as it considers every possible discount, for which you will never qualify. Or, do you think you can be in the armed forces, working for UPs and Delta Airlines, have a current car lease, all at the same time??? So the price went from $34k advertised on their own website to a MSRP of $40.5k, that would come down to a mere $37.5 with the discounts I "qualified" for... A complete SCAM, with shady and rude people, that forced me get up and say I was leaving, only to hear, "Where are you going?" and I said "Home!" and heard back "That is some way of negotiating"... They even asked me, since I am a salesman myself, if I told my customers "all the truth" when advertising... I said, this is not advertising, This is misleading your consumers!!! Their answer: "Haven't you heard of creative advertising?". So, if you go there... Good luck.

Being as objective as possible, this is not a good place to do business with. I caught two of the sales people in an outright lie and thankfully did not purchase a car at Sherman Dodge. Its shameful and somewhat surprising that the shady car salesman persona lives on here in 2011.

I would think that in this economy that Sherman Dodge would want to show prospective customers that they are honest and good people to buy from. It took me less than 20 minutes with them to see their dishonesty and forewarn anybody wanting objective information about this business before taking the drive out there.
Its not worth anytime. I went to another dealership the next day and my experience was 10 times better.

I do not put down anyone person in particular, and I have no personal grudges. I just wish I had not wasted so much time at Sherman Dodge and wished I had read these reviews before going there. It could have been worse I suppose, I could have purchased one of their vehicles and would have had to deal with them the next few years in their Service Dept, which also appears to have its problems after reading this board.

They advertised a new car online for a great price; I figured it was just a terriffic promotion as there were NO caveats, or comments with asterisks indicating otherwise. In fact, I even called and spoke with a sales guy who confirmed that they had the car for the advertised price.

So, I made the 45 minute drive with my wife, and spent 2 hours wasting time with a sales guy who was ultra slow and kept refusing to have my trade-in looked at while I waited, saying it "would only take 5 minutes" while in the end it took about 35 minutes. But, I was patient and polite just happy that I was about to get a great deal.

So finally, the sales guy comes back with a write-up. Not only was the offer of my trade about $1500 below average trade-in value and $4500 below average retail according to http://edmunds.com, but THE PRICE OF THE VEHICLE I JUST LOOKED AT WAS $3000 HIGHER than what was advertised! I was angry instantly and asked why the price was different, to which they replied that since I didn't qualify for all of the rebates that I couldn't get that price. I told them that the online ad did NOT mention any of these caveats, but they didn't care. I said that the higher price was not the price according to the ad, and some piece of garbage jumps in and says that it is the price; all he would do is laugh and argue.

Unbelievable. I with I could warn everybody, these people are ruining these brands and people's lives.

i leased a car from sherman dodge when my lease was over i returned the car and paid for some damage on the taillight and then 2 months later they came along and said that there was damage to the bumper which there was not i would of said smomething i ask them for some proof like a piture or anything i got nothing now they gave it to a collection agency to get the money which i dont think i should pay for it

No one can park anywhere near their house on Monday through Saturday from 6:30 am through 5pm due to all of the employees parking on our streets. Their employees even eat lunch in their cars staring at you when you walk by and then leave their garbage outside to blow on everyones lawn. They used to rent a lot for their inventory now they are too cheap. If they can afford to have this much inventory they can afford to rent a lot for the inventory. They are definitely NOT a nice neighbor.

To All, Please I beg and pleed with you do not buy from this dealership....they are a fraud and a liar. Do not waste your time. If they lie about cars they don't have what else are they lying about....think about it. Please read bellow...

I have a complaint to file with your sales department. I recently noticed that Sherman Dodge had listed they had ??53?2010 Dodge Grand Caravans in stock at $15,995. Interested I called your sales department on Saturday Oct 2, 2010 and spoke to ??CG?, who I later found out is Chuck Gordon. I explained what I was looking for?2010 Dodge Caravan with approx. 20-30,000 miles for the price you have listed. He replied that he had a few left, when I confronted him and said ??don??t have me come down there and waste my time? he immediately back tracked his statement with ??the lowest mileage vehicle we have is 36,000 mile. He then continued with ??but I spoke to the buyer and we are getting more in on Monday in the afternoon. Excited, my wife and I waited for his call on Monday. Monday morning I received a call from ??CG? informing me that he had 2 vehicles. One white and one teal, he also gave me the mileage for each vehicle, but I do not recall the actual mileage he quoted me (it was less than 30,000 miles.) I informed him that I would not be able to go because of work but my wife was at a doctor??s appointment and would go there afterwards. He replied ??great, I??ll be looking for her at 1pm.I repeated again, ??You have these vehicles there? to which he responds ??yeah, I don??t want you to come down here and waste your time?. I hung up the phone, and after a few minutes I called back and told him that my wife wasn??t crazy about the white but she would probably like it better than the teal. He immediately went into ??well we have someone looking at the white one, but deals take hours and he didn??t think this deal was going to go through. ?? Mind you, your own sales person said ??hours?. We hung up and approx. 4min latter he calls back saying he ??just found a silver one with 21,000 miles? I replied,? at $15,995 and it??s there?. He replied ??yeah, have your wife ask for Steve.? At this point my wife and father in law were just getting out of the doctor??s office, I called my wife to take sure they were going to the dealership. They were already on their way.

Once they got there my wife was met by Art, who asked her who she was there to see. They had some confusion about the name, but once that was resolved they went in to see CG. This person, ??CG? could not even bother to face my wife. When Art asked which vehicles we were there to see, my wife replied with a ??white one with X miles (forgot actual mileage), a teal one (again forgot actual mileage), and silver one with 21,000 miles. My wife also told him that CG informed her of vehicles that ??just came in the morning?. Art, who seems like an honest person, immediately responded we didn??t receive any vehicles and we have no teal or white vehicles. CG pops his head and says I told him the white car was in a sale?.mind you this was 45 after he called me. Remember the ??deals take hours and he didn??t think it was going through?. When asked about the silver grand caravan, they were told ??oh that one is more money.? It??s listed at $18,995 how convenient. Needless to say, frustrated my wife and father in law immediately left.

This is the second mistake your dealership made; the first was when they sold a Kia Rondo to my elderly parents and took complete advantage of them. My parents are from Italy and do not speak very good English. They sold a Kia Rondo and were told that they had to pay for window etching ($300) and they were robbed into paying $700 for a remote start (which normally goes for $200-300, I had already called an auto alarm place before and got a quote). When I spoke to your sale manager (which it seems you have a lot of, strange) he informed me that your dealership installs the remote start and that buying a remote start from somewhere else would void their warranty. 1), this is false, otherwise EVERY vehicle would be voided. 2) your dealership did not install the remote start, you sent it out to be put in. My parents waited for over 4 hours to get there vehicle back. When asked where was it, your service department replied with ??it was sent out?.

I recently purchased a new Town and Country from this dealership. Since I lived in Southern IL and they are located in Chicago I knew getting to the dealership would be a hassle. I called them up and talked to Nicole. She was probably the most patient, professional, polite and understanding sales consultant I have ever delt with. She didn't play games with me and spent a good portion of the day going over every detail of the vehicle, incentives and what I would be expecting to pay. She then had me talk to the New Car manager, Tom. He was also a very professional gentleman. He gave me a great price on a new Town and Country and didn't play any games either. I ending up putting a down payment over the phone and coming in later that week to pick up the car. There was absolutly no pressure from these people either. I don't know about the rest of the staff but if they were anything like these two I would highly recommend purchasing a car here!

We got a 2009 Altima from them I have had the car for a month now.

All of a sudden a mouth later I am looking at having to give the car back somehow they lied to the bank and the car is not financed.

I am so angry about this I am being told by them to come back and we can see if this can be fixed and if not they can give me a ride home.
These guys lie about everything you can't truest a word they say.
I was dumb to stay there and go through this with them I should have listened to one of the other customers there. They told me this would happen I would have the car for mounht and then I would be told to bring it back.

I shopped around for weeks and I saw an ad on Autotrader.com for the Charger we were looking for. I talked to Joe Sergretti and he really new the Dodge product line. Of course Joe was one of the managers and when we arrived to Sherman Dodge, Joe had the car cleaned and filled with gas.

Our names are Robert and Olga. We were miss-treated at this dealership. First, we came back to Sherman Dodge the third time to buy a car. Two years ago, we bought an '07 Chrysler 300 for us.One year later, we bought an '08 Chrysler Sebring convertible. Then, when we came back for the third time, they had a new manager and new salesmen. We tried to trade in Olga's '08 Chrysler Sebring convertible for another car. One thing we'd like to point out is the manager, Bill Miller, is very rude! The manager sent a salesman home right in front of our faces. Then, the manager tried to help us and told us to go home. Three hours later, David Ford, the V.I.P. approval manager, called us and told us, "You are approved. Come over, sign the papers, and drive off in your new car." We didn't want to drive for no reason from the Northwestern Suburbs, which is around forty-five minutes away. David Ford told us that we were 100% approved. When we got to the dealership, the manager, Bill Miller, said, "What are you doing here? You aren't approved. Get out of here." The manager bent our files and threw them away in front of us. The manager said we were "approved, but not approved." The manager also gave us the lowest possible appraisal for our '08 Chrysler Sebring convertible compared to another dealership we went to. Anyways, I would not recommend Sherman Dodge to anyone because the manager and salesmen are a bunch of liars and crooks. After TWO cars we bought from them, they treated us like trash. I took my sprinter Rv conversion in for incorrect speedometer reading. They took it in, advised me it might be an hour before they could look at it. It only took a little over 1/2 hour to check out and about an hour to re-calibrate the speedometer. I had taken it to another sprinter dealer, and they said it was done, not so-same as before, It was great to find a dealer that gets it right THE FIRST TIME. Great job Sherman Dodge service department.

Walked in to get a brand new Jeep Patriot. Knew exactly what car I wanted but it wasn't in stock. Got to test drive lower end model, all good. Meanwhile worked on the deal. Let's just say they came about 1/3 down off the sticker price (amazing). Excellent credit is my barganing power, plus I'm in Sales myself so I have a good handle on these things. Keith Coggins (my Salesman) wrote down all the options I wanted on the car, said he had a car someplace that he can get to me in a couple of days. I signed the paperwork (NO TRICKS on their end in the finance office, smooth sailing with the monthly payment as promised by the Salesman and manager Tony Sherman upfront). Turns out Keith made an honest mistake and got me a vehicle that didn't have one of the options I specifically requested. No prob. They tried for 2 days to find my exact car, when they couldn't they specially ordered it. 2 days later a close by dealership got the exact car I wanted. Sherman (Tom Segreti) went out of their way to purchase that car from them, I came in and got the same deal they voided from a few days ago. NO TRICKS, no strings, no bull sh!t. I was up front with them (told them how I like to do business and I don't like to be crossed) and they were up front with me. They ALWAYS answered my numerous calls and called me back exactly when they said they were going to call. I never had to wait around. Great Customer Service. Keith (Salesman) was great. He took his time and didn't try to turn the other way when problems arose. Tom Segreti (Gen Manager) worked real hard to get my car in. Again, the original price was honored, NO tricks up their sleeve.

This company lets you know your loan is approved and they never check your credit until you walk in the door - they are mis-leading wannabe sales people that never took a course in ethices - this company sucks - they need to review who they hire before putting them behind a desk. So long you P's OS....

I called Sherman Dodge because a belt broke on my car and they called a reasonably priced towing company to bring my car in for service. My mechanic, Stan was great! He explained what had happened to the belt, in a way i could understand, and told me he would complete the job as quickly as possible, which was within 2 hours. Great job, great place!

My buying experience was decent. I was there on the second day of Cash 4 Klunkers because they had inventory. I was looking for & bought a nice truck. (I brought along a 2nd person who just happened to be a car-salesman himself). The sales-person I had whose name was Sergio was very nice. The finance guy was nice too, but "a little" sloppy with his numbers, so pay attention before you sign & initial those dotted lines. Two weeks after buying the truck I re-financed the loan with a credit union, got a much better APR, lowered my payment by $38 a month, and banged the DEALERSHIP (along w/ Chase Bank) out of a lot of $$$ in interest. YAY for me! The dealer prep on the truck was just okay. The car-porters should have done a better job cleaning it up.
The over-all experiance wasn't bad but could have been better. Moral of the story: You need to do some homework-research-leg-work ie visit other dealerships, look online, etc... to get a good understanding of how the market is pricing these vehicles at the time your looking to buy.
On a side note: I personally know someone who had a poor experience with this dealership. There definately is some validity to previous reviews about poor customer service. If you can help it do not use their Service Center to fix your car.

These guys are liars and fast talking bate and switch artists. It will take a good while to get over the feeling of slime from having set foot in their showroom. I went in the first time with specific needs. Later that day their sales manager Dan, the self proclaimed "head guy" called me at my home telling me that they had everything I wanted, car ? options ? finance terms, and all I needed to do was come back in. I made an appointment for a couple of days later but I had a last minute schedule change and went back a day early. The "head guy" was off and to my surprise, no one had a clue about what had been described to me the night I was called. I had been told that there were a couple of cars that met my wish list and that financing had already been pre-arranged for the terms and payment range I had requested - but when I arrived, none of this was true. I decided to come back when the "head guy" was in, when I did and confronted him, he scrambled to put together a deal that was nothing like I had originally requested (different car features with fewer options - finance terms - and greater down payment). What's worse then his original lies began to become obvious and I didn't accept his last minute deal, he attempted to humiliate and loud talked me disrespectfully in an attempt to make me look like the idiot and cover-up for is own disgraceful lies in front of the entire showroom floor. NO ONE should ever need a car bad enough to do business with these guys when there are so many other dealers out there ? Do yourself a favor and drive past Sherman.

My wife and I were in the market for a Minivan. We heard about the Caravan having seats that go in the floor, which greatly appealed to my wife. We stopped at Sherman Dodge just to see how the seats folded into the floor. The salesman that helped us was very knowledgeable and actually anxious to help us. We informed him we were "just looking" but he didn't seem to mind. He demonstrated all the features of the Caravan at the speed we wanted to take. He was so refreshing that we proceeded to ask about the price. Within minutes we were given the price and the payment. We were so blown away that we drove home a beautiful red one that now sits on my wife's side of the garage!

I just had a really bad experience at SHERMAN DODGE IN SKOKIE. Was told my sevice contract had been cannceled when I arrived for service. I had to take the day off of work and find thepaper work to prove to them I had paid the extra 1500$ for the full coverage. It was reinstated without an apology or any regard for the huge inconvienience caused by their company
