Braxton Seafood Grill

We've gone here with a group of friends for the past 5 years. We like that they offer alcoves where you can pull the curtain and have privacy. They have outstanding fresh seafood and a wonderful wine list. They keep bringing the best tasting biscuits, everything we've ordered has been great. Always satisfied, this is a great place.

Braxton's is a wonderful restaurant, specializing in seafood. The entrees have a complexity of flavors, colors and textures. Everything I have ever had there is impeccable. Their breakfast and meat entrees are also beautifully presented and seasoned. Their twilight menu ( in by 6pm) is a special favorite with us- especially since it is an all day menu on Sundays. The menu has a soup or salad, entree and dessert for 18.95 - but lest you get confused and think this is your American diner style meal - the choices for soups include lobster bisque and the house salad has a variety of baby greens, including some purple lettuce complete with crumbled cheese (goat cheese, I think) cherry tomatoes, pine nuts, dried cranberry and a balsalmic vinagrette. There are fish choices, shrimp, and scallops as entrees with a small upcharge only for the steak. The desserts include cheesecake every bit as good as any basic one at Cheesecake Factory. The general menu desserts are fabulous as well. I just loved the chocolate liquor cake -a chocolate "O". If that was not enough, there is live jazz in the bar on Friday and Saturday night- no cover charge! In the regular dining room, there is appropriate low key dining music at just the right volume that it creates a relaxing unobtrusive atmosphere for conversation. Even my severely hard of hearing uncle could enjoy a conversation in this atmosphere. The dining experience is very elegant and it is a great place to do a special occasion meal. The dining area is beautifully furnished with linen table clothes and comfortable, padded, solid wood chairs and moderately dim lighting - just for atmosphere.

Located in the Oakbrook Mall this is an excellent choice for fresh seafood and steaks. They offer the best calamari and fantastic desserts. There are often bar specials and happy hour specials including lobster tail. Often they have jazz music and there are tables in alcoves if you want privacy. The staff goes out of their way to please you and if you sign up for their birthday club, you receive a card for a free meal!
