I went to my first open skate at the Tinley rink on Friday evening 3/12/10. Everything in the facility, including the bathrooms were clean and I didn't notice any type of odor in the building that others had mentioned in their reviews.

I can't compliment the staff enough, as they were very friendly. They even gave my neice free skate rental when she wanted to try a pair of quad skates.

A good time was had by all, and I will probably retun again next weekend.

Back in the day i used to go there and it was a blast. The smell has always been bad it had that smell of stale cigarettes in the bathrooms and a muskie smell everywhere else. I remember the music and the good time we always had there. Times change Its time to modernize get w it.

It is a small rink, limited parking, friendly staff, very stinky( animal urine) it is not modern at all. The smell is bag enough to not stay but we were attending a b-day party. After a while you sort of forget about the smell plus its the cheapest place you will find. I would gie it 2 and a half stars instead of 3

I haven't seen this rink during regular public skate times, but have taken kids there for school outings. I'm not sure how many people hang out at the rink regularly, but it could definitely use a decorating update.

I used to LOVE this place when I was a teenager, I have been back 3 times in my old age (i'm 30). Each time I have been back it has been dirtier and the smell of dog urine has gotten extremly worse. Not a place to take anyone with animal allergies or asthma to as the employees and owners keep pets on the premises. The kids I watch were BEGGING me to leave because they could not stand the smell anymore. I will go out of my way to go to Skate West or Lynwood roller rink from now on.

Unbelievably, the admission cost is exactly the same as it was in the ninties.
It is a fantastic deal for $5, if you can stand it!

The last time I was visiting here, I took the nephew and his friends here at the last moment and I couldn't have made a better choice. Wow! For five bucks each (afternoon session), they got hotdog, soda, chips and skates in a fun, safe supervised arena. People were friendly, too - even the DJ was good. The kids had a good time and wanted to go back again the next day. Recommended.

PROS: Inexpensive, safe good fun.
CONS: What's not too like?

I started going to the TP Roller RInk in the early 80's as a kid. Not much has changed there, aside from the color of the carpeting. You'd think a place that seems to do a fair amount of business could put some money back into the place for improvements. Everything seems dirty and run-down, and it has a distinct, nasty *odor* inside. If you go on a weekend for a birthday party, be prepared to park down the block...parking is very limited.
