Tuffy's will try to scam you. I was having trouble with my alternator so I took my car there for them to check it out. I also mentioned that there is a vibration whenever I brake at high speeds. (I just changed my brakes 4 months ago). My alternator was dead, but they also told me that I needed to replace my right front caliper and rotors. He could only do calipers in a pair (don't know why). Also, he said my rear brake pads were at 10%. He treated me like I didn't know what he was talking about (probably because I am a young blonde girl) and gave me a quote for over $1,400.
I decided not to do the work and they seemed very annoyed and charged me about $39. I replaced the alternator myself for about $200 and had a trusted mechanic look at the brakes. All that was needed was to grease a locked up guide pin, soo $0.
I went to Tuffy for the first time for an oil change. They were really efficient and totally reasonable. They have different levels of oil changes ranging from $15-$35, depending on what you're looking for. They have specials for the more expensive oil change for $15, and they checked everything on my car. They didn't push selling me anything that I needed to get done to my car either.
